Default UTEC with APS?

I'm considering the UTEC just so I can store different maps and I'll also be able to have it tuned locally. I've got the APS single turbo...

1. Can the unichip and UTEC work together? Or would I have to completely remove the unichip to use the UTEC?

2. Also, would a boost controller be required if I had to remove the unichip?

3. Is there a way to store different maps using the unichip?

You wouldnt have to get a boost controller, just a solenoid ($20). The UTEC can control boost via the solenoid.

technically he wouldn't have to buy anything. I could have sworn I read a post about MRC taking the solenoid out of the unichip and using it with the UTEC.

APS ST kit comes with 000-094-500 SOLENOID - WASTEGATE CONTROL and 435-083-200 LOOM - SOLENOID, all you have to get is UTEC and UTEC remote switch it will let you save 5 maps, and all you have to do is to tune it properly

I've never had any problems with it... it's more of an OEM type I believe made by Bosch (if you look at it, the original manufacturer information is ground down.)

I'm in the process of doing the same thing.

I'm planning on getting a boost controller and scrapping the APS solenoid (which means I have to spend more money, not happy about that!)

Also, it sucks that I can't connect my existing AEM wideband to the Utec. I will be looking for a logging solution so I can at least log my A/F and compare it to my Utec logs. Buying the Utec tuner is out of the question, since I've already spent $400 on the AEM.

actually the utec has 7 maps. 5 are programmable, one stock, and the last is sort of a kill switch. if my utec comes in this week i'll be installing with scott's cams. we'll probably have a high and lo boost setup on 93 octane and a high boost on c-16 race gas. not sure what i wanna do with the other two maps. maybe hi-lo boost on 100 octane maybe? let you guys know how it turned out at the sema show in philly.
