Dude not everyone goes with the less expensive TT kits because they are cheaper. I went with the Greddy TT because it was more upgradeable then the APS. I have a BOV, an AAM fuel return (real fuel return in comparison to APS'), an a HKS FCON V-Pro <-------way better than the Unichip. All this was way more expensive than buying a "complete" APS TT.

APS is a great kit, but it is not the best for everyone. It's not as easily upgradeable as some of the other TT kits.

Anyway blowing the motor up has very little to do with the kit and 99% to do with the install and tune. It just so happens that the APS is more idiot proof than all the other kits.

I noticed there was no mention of the ATI Procharger.

But we are not taking to "eveyone", we are talking to the poster of this thread who is not experienced obviously with FI. I don't have any disagreements with your first 2 paragaphs about your general concept that kits like the Greddy can be upgraded to be safe, BUT...you are not the one asking for help here. Obviously the poster that started this thread is very inexperienced. Therefore I recommended that he go with a very thorough and complete and safe kit in APS. That does not have to be mixed and matched with parts from other companies to be safe and powerful. So, you have to be aware of your audience. I was advising him, not you on the best course of action. That is just my opinion, you are welcome to yours and I stand behind what I said. And the subject was not upgrading kits though I have some disagreement with you there. The APS can be tuned to put down 500 wheel hp on stock internals. That is easily exceeds the criteria of the poster of this thread who is asking for advice. Again, if you as someone experienced in FI were asking for advice and discussing upgrading kits and higher power, you and I would have a different discussion. I was responding to the person asking and basing my advice on his apparent level and experience.

I will agree with you that the tune is a key to some extent, but the other stock kits (again, this guy is not talkng modified kits here) do NOT have nearly as good a fuel and other systems as APS and are not as safe regardless of tune. For instance, VRT is touting 400 wheel horse power with 350Zs with stock engine internals and with JWT TTs and does not even upgrade the stock 350Z fuel injectors in the standard kit. And it has no fuel return system. Now our stock injectors are somewhere in the range of 333 cc. That does not add up - almost 500 engine hp on mid 300cc injectors - and is not as safe as the APS TT kit with 500 cc injectors and a fuel return system. JWT sells the kit like that to pass emissions and carb and lets the buyer assume the risk for running a much lesser fuel system than APS. Yes I know they run increased fuel pressure but that is still nowhere as good as the APS set up. Without a fuel return you will have times when you run lean with the JwT kit set up that way and you will not have consistent fuel availability and cooler fuel like with APS.

And the Greddy kit is downright dangerous UNLESS you do upgrade it with addtional parts. Some people do not like to mix and match a lot of different manufactures. If there is a problem each will always point the finger at the maker of the other parts. Now you disagree and that is your right on this aspect. But I have a right to my opinion on this aspect as well..
