Looks like its pretty much low 11's to high 11's until 6400 and then climbs to 12 at 6800. If I were you I wouldnt shift past redline

Did Mike say how long you should expect the motor to last if babied?

Hey Mike! I'll be coming down for my annual pilgrimmage to Gaithsersburg in May. By then, I'll have new headers and new HFC's. I hope you can do for me, what you did here. Well, maybe not 460 WHP. But how about 420 maybe?

i will be back at AAM soon...... i want the fuel return,a fuel pump, and i think i want u-tec..... i already have 440 injectors, i would be extremely happy with those numbers....... i have to order smaller pullies...... i no its gonna cost me a ****load of money....... but it will be worth it to have the fastest car around my block......

Question????I thought it was dangerous to change pulleys with any supercharger kit??? (I'm not talking about the cogs that actually turn the supercharger pulleys, but rather the pulleys that turn the main crank, etc...)

I have an ATI and I am getting feedback from my first dyno run that throughout all 8 runs I maxxed out at 6lbs of boost. I bought an 8lbs boost set-up. (That was wierd)
Now if I change my pulleys to some UR set-up, what will that do to my car???

How on earth did you get to 10-11 lbs of boost? What did you change? The original Boost on Vortech is 8lbs I think?

you change the SC pulley, not the crank pulley on the engine

going with an underdrive pulley on the engine will lose you a lot of boost

What Sentry said! When you use an underdrive pulley in conjunction with the SC, you will underdrive the SC as well and effectively have lower boost. If you want to do somethign with the crank pulley on SC'd systems, you ONLY want to get a lightweight pulley like the KJR or the CNR one. About 80% of any HP gains from a crank pulley are from the leightweight of it and the other 20% is from the smaller diameter.

Now, what we are talking about in this thread is swapping the SC pulley ONLY. That is the one that actually drives the SC unit. Or the one that is connected to the SC unit.

Also, the amount of boost you are seeing with a SC pulley depends on the breathing/exhaust mods you have done. Vortech sends out their SC kits with the 3.33 pulley and not an "8 pound" pulley for this very reason. And all upgraded pullies for this system are named by numbers such as 3.12 and 2.87. When I had the stock 3.33 pulley on my SC, I was ONLY seeing roughly 5-6 psi of boost and many said it was because of my free flowing exhaust and intake manifold. Now, with the 3.12 pulley, I have seen upwards of 10 psi on the dyno and between 9 &10 on my Defi boost gauge. Hope this clears some stuff up for you!

makes you wonder if you had a larger diameter crank pulley if that'd up your boost without voiding your vortech warrenty...assuming someone made one

Thats funny you should mention that. I was actually thinking about that a few days ago! Would that "overdrive" the accessory components? Not sure if that would matter, but it sounds good!

Thanks for the feedback. I need to find out how to get the pulley's I need from ATI. It seems they have these things on lockdown. I don't know if there are some generic pulleys that can be bought in place of the originals from any auto parts store? I seriously Doubt it.
I don't necessarily want to mix and match parts, but if ATI gives me a hard time, I may have to.

I guess we'll see.
