So I know there is a decent amount of oil in my system... will this catch can clean up the existing oil? In other words, does the oil move throughout the system, then once it hits the catch can, that's as far as it goes?

Where did you tap into for the Vacuum? And does the vac cause the plastic hoses to collapse ?

That is not my car in the pix. I have not installed a catch can yet! I just know that that is the breather hose because I have the Vortech and a huge size hose in the same area.

Bump, to see if a APS/Crawford strut bar can be installed in conjunction with the ARC catch can.

Yep this will capture the majority of the oil residue in the intake system that exits from the crankcase (bad turbo and supercharger seals cannot be stopped with this system). This is also dependent on how much blow by you have in your motor, but assuming a tip top seal you will see almost zero residue once the can is installed.

I tried a test fit today with the APS strut bar. It will fit just barely, but the brackets are not 100% lined up. This is becasue the APS bar forces the front of the catch can to tilt down slightly. You would need to make 2 small 90 degree brackets.

Since the can and the strut bar are attached to the chassis its not a huge deal that it touches the strut bar.

my question is would it be ok to put something between the can and the strut bar to prevent rattles? or does that get too hot? i'm thinking like a piece of insulating tape?

"With a Forced Induction car it helps immensely to utilize intake vacuum (pre-turbo/suprecharger) to evacuate the crankcase of excess pressure created by blow-by and other factors. Ring sealing is better and seals/gaskets are less likely to blow out. At the same time, without a catch can, the atomized oil and carbon will eventually build-up in your intake piping and intercooler causing a loss of efficiency."

Does this come with a fitting whereby a line is connected to the block to eleviate the pressure? I've been told that the VQ engine has several areas on the block (ports I guess) that have plugged fittings that are capable of being tapped into to run a line from the block itself to a breather tank/oil catch can to eleviate the pressure that exists in the block/crank case area. Is that what this is doing? Thanks in advance.
