Default Stillen Stage 4 keeps killing plugs

So, for those of you that read my other engine missing thread you'll be somewhat up to speed.

Last week my engine developed a very bad miss on cylinder 2, we took the spark plug out and found that it has welded itself together, so, new plugs all around.

Now a week later, the problem is back, engine is definately missing on one of the cylinders. Now of course it could be the coil pack for #2 but it is more than likely another dead spark plug.

Do you guys think I should go to 2 steps colder plugs and see or do you all think that there is a greater problem here.

Thanks in advance,

Colin

Iridium plugs, what's your gap? 1 step colder should be fine unless that stage 4 setup is running serious timing..........

Yeah, I'll figure that out when I go to see my mechanic later today ... I know that I had the NGK iridiums one step colder before but I'm not 100% sure which plugs are in there now.

Talked to Stillen and they think it's detonation, if it is then I had it while I was stage 3 also ...

sorry if this question sounds stupid but what's the cause for detonation...is it the A/F too lean?

I gap my iridiums at .035" with no issues running 10psi TN kit.

detonation can be from intake temps being too high, not necessarily from a lean condition, but yes, that's the most common cause.

So you had detonation before and didn't find out why?

That's the point, I was never sure that it was detonation, we always assumed that it was hi-flow cat's material resonating, this is because it started without any mod changes ...

And yes, in hindsight I should have investigated more ...

that's what i have , i had them for stage 3 and now same ones for stage 4, i drove around 16K on them no probs. Detonation is rare with Stillen since they tend to run rich, maybe your gas is not good, do you always fill up at the same place with same type of gas?
