Default Just Blew My Stock Motor With APS TT!!

It happened a few hours ago. I was pulling away from a stoplight (not getting on it all) and all of sudden...BOOM, then I heard various ungodly clanking, and then an oil/coolant trail followed me all the way to a close parking lot, a trail probably at least 1/4 mile long!

Then there was the adventure of trying to get a flatbed in my area to pick up a lowered car with a bodykit. My front bumper is only about 4" off the ground. I thought I might have leave her overnight in this retail store parking lot. Man, what a nightmare! Luckily, I was finally able to find one who would come out and was actually very careful. I had to help lift the front end so they could get her up without scraping.

I'd appreciate any advice from you guys that have built your motors. What's the best approach and what you might do differently. I know everyone says you're never happy with the hp you have but I'm sure, I would be very satisfied with 500-550whp. I can't imagine a 100whp more than I have now.

Any help or advice for the build and these power goals would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, hopefully everything works out.

Were you tuned for your mods? ie...test pipes, plenum, etc..

How long have you been running the kit?

Weird. Maybe your Unichip took a dump, I dunno. Sorry to hear about that man.

Did you just gas up by any chance?

Everything seemed fine, EGT was at normal levels as well as pressure. I just can't believe it! Thanks, I'll take any advice you have.

Thanks, seems like there's a lot of positive reviews on SGP's blocks.

5k doesnt seem like all that many miles to already have a blown motor. How many complete miles on the car?
perhaps a better tune then the unichip should be in the works. I know that it works, and for some people it works for a long time, but when a motor is blown the Unichip always comes into question. Nothing wrong with a nice standalone.

35K miles on her total. From my tuners car to BigBri's running way over 500whp on stock internals, I thought I was fine. An autopsy will get to the truth.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. Good luck with your rebuild. I can't believe how cool my wife is being about the whole thing. Last summer with the TT, bodykit and wheels, I sunk almost 20K in this car and now this! She says, "well, you said this could possibly happen, so just get her done right so you can enjoy your toy again." She's gold!

By the way, who's doing your rebuild? Is it Godspeed or something like that? I have no idea who to go with? You obviously felt comfortable with someone up in MI.
