Default SES P1274/ P1283 Update

I was getting these codes consistently after my TN install. After about 6 weeks or so of messing around with things I beleive I found the reason for it and the fix. I know there are some members on this board who have had this same issue after either their FI install OR test pipe install. Another member on this board was having this same problem and used this fix to to get rid of these consistent codes and after 10 months he is still free of these 2 codes.

On the stock exhaust there is a secondary O2 sensor on both the left and right Cat. After a test pipe install or some FI installs the cats are deleted and the O2 sensors are then placed on 1 pipe. There is a difference between the 2 sensors as they have 2 different plugs that go up to the wiring harness so they can not be switched. Exactly why they are different or why they need to be correctly left and right for the ecu to run properly I don't know. So I swapped the sensors at the downpipe where they are relocated on the TN set up and after an ECU reset I have gone 150mi with no reoccurence of these codes. Previously I was getting these codes popping up every 40mi after an ECU reset (12hr battery neg. term dissconnect). My car seems to idleing smoother and my Vac has gotten a bit stronger. Again I do not know how this all correlates but it seems to have worked. Some people have said it should not matter if the left and right sensor are reversed on the downpipe but it has worked for me and another member on this board.

Depending on how long the O2s have been on the exhaust the harder they will be to unscrew unless you used anti seize on the threads. Finally all is well in FI land for my G. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself by posting that.

i cant tell if your talking about the sensors placement on the downpipe or if you unplugged them from the car and reversed the plugs. i think the plugs are two different sets of male and female plugs anyways, so you cant reverse them.

I talking about the seconday O2 sensors. Stock there is one on the left Cat and one on the right Cat. Yes, they can be reversed.

The upstream 02 sensors (Wideband 04.5 and above) are interchangeable. I had no idea the downstream ones were not. I am not under a car right now, but IIRC, the sensors themselves have the same color connectors, but the female portions have two different colors.

any update on this?

I am getting these codes too.

I looked them up in my service manual, and they are for the upstream O2s, not the downstream O2s. How can swapping the downstream O2s make a difference.

The other strange thing is that these 2 codes are opposite. basically, it is saying that one of the banks is rich and the other bank is lean! wtf???

Yes the Turbonetics kit includes non foulers pre-wedled onto the downpipe.
