Over 7 psi and around 4000 rpm the fuel will cut and the Car will fall on it's face. Jermaine has been helpful at Turbo XS and Julian sent the new 2.7 to my shop but that did not seem to help...thanks for all of your help Anyone have any ideas?
Can't help, but who tuned the UTEC for you initially? Did you do it yourself? Thanks.

Sounds like your overboost cut level needs to be increased. The other hesistation you speak of, has to do with the transition from ECU control, to UTEC control. It can be tuned out.

Who tuned the engine for you? Our UTEC power cars pull like wild animals!

What boost controller are you using with the utecs? The blitz?

The Blitz SBC ID on most of them. A couple of customers had manual boost controllers.

I am having very similar symptoms. My over boost is set to 12 psi yet I am still having the same problem. My tuner called and spoke with jermaine at turbo xs. He did not have anything helpful to say except to shim the CAS wire which doesnt seem like a valid solution to the problem. Turbo xs technical support seems to be pretty useless.

Dave, we've found that the UTEC reads ahead, when it comes to the overboost cut. For instance, if we tune a car to 8psi, we oftentimes have to set the overboost cut to 11-12 psi or else the fuel cut will kick in. That would be the first thing I would check on the UTEC. Basically, raise the overboost cut until the problem is eliminated.

Its, most likely a bad UTEC, we just went through this at the shop and swapped out an old utec and it worked fine..I would contact Turbo XS on Monday and speak with Jermaine.Might also have something to do with that check sum error.

I will definately be on the phone with him monday, hopefully clearing this up so I have something positive to say about this unit. Seems like everyone else is having such good luck with it.

I just wanted to thank you again Julian for getting a hold of the guys working on my car at speed & sound. They have been trying to work this out for some time now. It is kind of comforting knowing that it could be a bad utec and not bad tuning!
