What made you go ST instead of TT? (besides cost)
Im curious to know why some of you went ST instead of TT? Was it the cost? From what i researched most guys went TT in search of higher HP, from what im being told.
I'll be going with a ST due to the easier install (Heck I can do it in my garage with basic tools), less cost, and hits my goal out of the box for 400whp @ 8.5psi without any major modifications.
If I go TT it's simply because from an engineering standpoint, I like the design and layout (of the APS for example) better than most ST setups.
Also, I'm not an expert on the subject but it seems from common sense and what I've read that TT should typically spool faster and yield less lag, which is important to me.
A ST can yield excellent whp numbers and 1/4 times, but for me, if I were to design a turbo system for the VQ it would definitely be a TT setup.
That said, I would think about ST's due to lower cost only.
Plus, putting the turbos down low in the engine bay (APS) versus putting a bright and shiny turbo up high and in the front of the engine bay (Turbonetics) is not something that I would prefer for doing this in California. I would most likely get everything coated black to keep it more stealthy.

you haven't researched jack shat then
1) cost
2) ease of install
3) completeness
4) good numbers
5) general simplicity.

I paid $6k for my APS ST and Sharif has the Greddy TT w/FMIC for $5890. http://www.forgedinternals.com/store/home.php?cat=254
I don't know if there is anything else that is a necessity though. So the only thing I can think of is labor is double the cost with a TT.

your the one who hasnt searched around...Greedy w/fmic is same or cheaper as ST kits...
anyways...back on topic please..
LIke what others said. First, it's $1000~$1500 cheaper. Easier install. My Z is a daily driver. I can keep the rpm low (3000) to stay under the boost, therefore good gas milage.

unless you think greddy's stock tune, on stock injectors and stock fuel pump is perfectly fine
It comes with 440cc injectors. You need the timing harness, fuel pump and a tune plus gauges(but all the kits need them).

Greddy TT kit is a TUNER kit. You still have to buy extra stuff to make it work. With that in mind, an ST kit would be benificial if your goals are under 500whp. After that I would tend to lean more towards a TT kit. I'm sure I'm gonna get hounded for that comment haha. BUT in the long run after everything is said a done, both ST and TT are not that far apart cost wise, actually closer than most think. SO do what you think your driving style will like or what you plan to do with the car. They both make a godly amount of power and make it easy.
1- Easy for install.
2- Its ideal for daily driver (less stress on my Auto tranny).
3- Cost.
4- When i pop the hood it will turn heads.
Its very useful for drag racing because the boost will not kick in early and the car will lunch as if its NA then the party will begin until it hits the finish line.

Install (did it myself), the way the power comes on I really like, and the fact that the TN kit is the best looking FI kit imo. And that when set up right, will run with TT kits at much less cost
i dunno i think i will be going T ST in the future becasue of costs, but i dont think i have seen anything match the JWT setup its really just a piece of work. And they put out alot at a low psi which is nice aswell
