Default Vortech AAM Tune 403rwhp -326rwtq

Well finally after a year I found some time to get my Z tuned. The guys at AAM were great, and lots of help, answer all my questions and even gave us some good places to go out at night. Thanks AAM. The car feels much better now. The speeding ticket I got on the way home says it all LOL. Here is the dyno chart.

i'm very close to pulling the trigger on a vortech guys, 1 big thing that is stopping me is the noise, how loud is the actual supercharger @ idle and while cruising? is it really loud like most say.

make sure you get gates belts and raise your idle as high as you can - like 1000 rpms or so

and I just hate the fact that turbos have too much tq for 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd gear at around 4500 rpms with most type of tires

there's other ways to get tq out of a vortech - I have about 360-365 dynojet tq and I'm not even using the 2.87 pulley (yet) and 3.9 gears and good tires help a lot with getting more (gear) tq

Any decent tire is enough to handle 400ft/lbs I hook from 1st gear punches Learn to feather the throttle and/or launch and that TQ isnt as bad as you make it out to be....

To the OP-nice #'s, did you drive down from BFE just to get the car tuned?

The one thing i hate about my vortech s/c. it sounds like a can with rocks at idle. there are a couple of things i have heard help this situation: make sure that your belts are appropriately tightened (gilmer belt, etc). These belts can be quite tricky as to what tension they should have and will need adjusting in the weeks after install. It also helps to purchase an upgraded belt from the one that comes in the kit.

i have also heard that raising the idle speed helps some as it does not sounds bad at just over 1100 rpm at idle. i believe you have to have the dealership do this and i am not sure all dealships will agree to do it.

other than that. the power is great. WOT sounds great too.

Is it me, or does the dyno chart look RICH at the top end???

Looks like it touches a/f of 10 around 6600rpm.

thanks for the info guys, i'll wait out the summer and see what ends up in my hood... prolly this setup though. and again i prolly will take the drive to AAM as well. they seem to really get the tuning on point for alot of folks here, plus they charge a pretty fair price imho.

hehe I know, I was just goofing around - hence the "".

I have to feather 1st gear a little bit too even with my relative low tq numbers. After 1st gear it doesn't matter anyway about peak tq cause you're at 5000-6600 rpms anyway where the vortech does just fine with tq even compared to turbos up to a point anyway - have yet to see a 500+whp vortech setup. 480whp is the highest I've seen so far

The dyno is a little rich......The reason Mike tuned it like that is because I live 8 hours north of there shop. When I got home, my AFR gauge shows that it leaned out a little. I'm going to data log the AFR with my Zeitronix and see what it looks like
