$0 so far. I'm upgrading VB on 5AT soon but more as a preventative measure; tranny still runs fine.

I dont think I have had to spend anything on repairs as a direct result of going F/I yet. I have about 10k miles on my Vortech setup on a 5AT and am not exactly "easy" on it when I drive it!

+1 Coming up on 24,000 miles on my Vortech SC. NO major expenditures. Looking back through some of the receipts I see 2-3 belt, 1 COG belt, 1 TP for the COG Belt and filters.

Alright lets begin:
turbonetics single turbo put on with stock exhaust, blown motor.

- after motor rebuild, a/c line blows
- air pockets in coolant system, overheating
- and my main and most annoying problem, CAnnot tune the utec and Still cant get the car running smooth, driving in low boost and in high boost. Im on the brink of pure hatred for my car but its ok gotta continue trying to fix it

Why cant you find a competent UTEC tuner?

so the crankshaft was bent or something?

when you buy a built bottom end from say SGP, it includes a crankshaft right?

I'd assume the stock exhaust would love to help blow up the engine with making it harder to exhaust the heat out

Maybe, but the TN kit is made to bolt up to a stock engine on stock exhaust etc and run efficient and safely. Untill now I had heard of no one blow their engine on stock exhaust and a fully stock unmodded engine with the TN kit. But, then again, I guess anything is possible! Oh well, I will be installing a UTEC right off the bat i guess...

Still want some more info from the guy who blew on stock exhaust though.
