Just read a thread about the cost of a serp belt for the SC .The thread is closed now .

Just to let people know . The Gates belt and the NAPA belt are the same thing . Gates makes the belt for NAPA . SO you more than likely will pay more for the Gates than the NAPA and they are the same exact belt . So if your wanting to put on the Gates or NAPA belt on so the belt doesnt stretch as aften .

GO TO YOUR LOCAL NAPA PARTS STORE AND ASK FOR THE NAPA SERP BELT !!!!!!!!

 

same goes for the procharger. it is a gates belt. you can buy it for $65-70 from ati, or get it from an industrial supply warehouse for about $30. a serpinetine belt is easy, just measure the length and count the ribs, should be easy for any parts place to cross reference to find the part number. to even get away from the napa mark up, try an industrial supply place.

 

Yeah I called ATI and they quoted me $90 for the cog belts, but the service guy was nice enough to tell me that I should try Napa. At least he knew that there stuff was overpriced.

gates used to have a lifetime warranty through o'rielly's auto parts? as my mustang used to eat em up w/ the little pulley on.

What about the cog belt? I had several auto places, including NAPA, trying to cross-reference it. None of them could find it. I ended up ordering one from Vortech, but what's the deal.

 

Just ask for a 93 inch 6 rib belt
