vortech or ati procharger
I'm having a hard time deciding on which sc to go with and any input would really help.
I'm looking for something around the 370-380hp /310 tq (nothing crazy) but something reliable for daily driving. I was leaning toward the vortech for the longest time BUT I have been seeing more complaints with this kit everyday (rattle at idle etc.).
I have heard that the procharger is suppose to produce more hp/tq when compared to vortech but I haven't been able to find any dynos showing more than 350hp with this kit.
So, which kit should I go with if I want ~375hp/310tq???

I've just been through the same process and I decided on the Vortech.
I did not see a significant number of extra problems mentioned in the various forums about the Vortech vs ATI. Do you have some links to sites with numbers of problems with each system?
One major factor for me was that the ATI has its own oil and to change it one a 350Z apparently you basically have to dismantle the system. On the Vortech you just change the engine oil.
I just got my kit today from JEGS and unfortunately the intercooler was damaged, JEGS are going to replace it which is good, but I'll have to wait a while before installing it.

Some things to think about .
The ATI [ I havent heard one ] Is supose to be much louder whine .
ATI has a self contained oil system . You change oil by sucking it out . ATI has a tool to do it with.
The full Vortech kit will get you exactly what you want with out adding fuel injectors , fuel pump , or new EMU . Your better off using the Utec than the Unichip . The SplitSecond box is just fine for the power level you want .

I'm not sure if I trust the fmu setup with stock injectors when i'm running the 3.12 pulley. Wouldn't it be safer with a better fuel setup like injectors and unichip (pull timing when needed)? I would have gone with something else but I only know 1 place near my area that deals with unichip.
Vortech wouldnt have done the fuel system that way if they didnt think it would hold up over time . Of course there are better ways including the one you are thinking about .

I think the ATI is a great kit. Both will get you 370-380hp and 310tq easy if you have the right breathing mods.
The belts on the ATI will still stretch, but they won't slip at least.

I have the Procharger, and it was loud as hell when it was new. It was crazy. But now after 15K miles of daily use, it's very quiet. Can't tell you why that is, but at an idle now, you really have to listen for it to hear it. As for the oil, I don't know how everyone else does it, but I just loosen up the drain bolt on the bottom of the unit and let it drain out on to a rag. Its only 4 or 6 oz. Not as much as you would think.

as for the oil change, ATI charges you $20 (used to be free) for this turkey baster type contraption that sucks the oil out from the screw on top.. takes me about 5-10 mins to change my oil

the oil thing to me is a moot point - every other FI kit there is for the Z uses the engine oil for cooling - or in the case of the APS turbos also use the coolant in addition to engine oil
From our experience, the ATI tends to eat belts much faster than the Vortech. The ATI uses a lightened billet aluminum mounting bracket, and it has quite a bit of flex in it. The Vortech is more rigid. As such, as the ATI spools, the belt alignment becomes an issue, and it eats more belts. 
My vote is for Vortech tuner kit, with return fuel system, UTEC, pressure sensor, and a walbro pump...coupled with 440cc injectors.

and there's two belts to replace with the ATI instead of 1 longer one with the vortech
I think for most people at moderate whp levels, they'll be roughly equal with maintenance. I chose vortech as most people getting a centrifugal have

I had the ATI. Initial set of belts went 18,000 miles before I lost the smaller cog belt. It simply stretched over time, and I was not diligent in keeping the tension. Other than that one item, not a single issue with the unit. Got 23,000miles on it and then went tt as my orientation became more track directed. Avo has the unit, upgraded the kit, and is bopping around town like Top Gun.

They are fundamentally the same basic units, centrifugal superchargers. One has a self contained oil reservoir and the other taps the oil pan.
What is going to matter is how you set up the engine management and fuel system and tune it.
