I'm sure people have thought of this before, but wouldn't a seperate oil supply systme for the turbochargers keep the turbos cleaner and give them a longer life span. If you had two oil pans, a larger one and a smaller one for the turbos then none of the dirty oil that is used in combustion would touch the turbos, thus keeping them cleaner, giving them a longer life span, and you would probably not have to change the oil as often. It's probably not worht it for the extra weight and equipment but just an idea.

This would present a bunch of challeneges. You would first need a separate tank for the oil. Then you would have to run an electric oilpump and plumb in a filter. If the electric pump failed, your turbos would be toast. Lastly, where the hell would all this stuff go? There's so little room already in the engine bay.

That's a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
Change your oil and filter on a regualr basis, consistantly allow a cool-down cycle, and you should have no problem getting 250K from any good quality turbo.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
