Default Weird Noise coming from the Turbo???

When I shift down with AT-TipTronic to slow down, its sounds l like the turbo rattles (like when you drive a bicycle and stick a "pokercard" between the spokes)

I hope someone knows what I mean .. cuz Its hard to explain

Could be piping rattling against the body of the car...

hmm maybe I could upload a soundfile... I'll check my piping and try it again..

Its just sounds like that when I shift down like lets say @ 5000-3500 rpm's ... @ 3000-2000 rpm it doesnt rattle

Do you have a blow-off valve? Is it opening? The turbo compressor vanes can make a fluttering sound (compressor surge) if you have pressure building up inside your intake. Just a WAG.

yeah I got a blow-off valve and its open... I know the fluttering sound is normal .. .but not a rattle sound if down_shifting (no gas is pushed) (like when you drive a bicycle and stick a "pokercard" between the spokes)

like miaplaya said... it sounds like some piping or maybe the turbo itself is rattling against the body of the car...?

(just a thought)
Oil should be fine... I check my oil and it was right in the middle of low and high

okay found out the problem..... the piping underneath the turbo has a hole ! The vibration of the turbo was hitting the pipe and kinda killed it..

Possible to solder or do I need a new pipe?

If it is a Turbonetics pipe just let Reggie know which one it is and he will send you a replacement. It would be easier if you tell him the exact part number of the pipe. Pics and part numbers are in the install guide. I just happen to have a copy of it on www.turboneticsownersclub.com http://turboneticsownersclub.com/tur...icsinstman.pdf
