5AT question
Hey guys,
I'm finally going to track my X after installing a vortech earlier this year, dumping a tranny and getting a used one with VB/TC upgrades. I plan on getting a transmission cooler soon. My question is what is a safe rest period between runs to keep the tranny cool? I don't want this one to fail on me.
Thanks

Invest in a gauge for transmission temp so you can figure it out for yourself. That's the only way to safely answer that question. Without knowing the actual temps, anything else is just conjecture.
Well i dont track my car i go to the 1/4 mile and normaly it takes 30 to 40 minutes between runs and the car feels perfectly fine. At the autoX maybe after a few laps 30 to 40 minutes with a fan on the motor should be nice but again i dont know nothing about the autoX.
u'll be fine in an autocross with the tranny... you wont do long enough runs to really heat it up to the point of shut down... you also wont do enough runs period to really have it happen... Just make sure you have a tranny cooler though later on cuz it will really help the trans out
I ran all last year NA with mods and NEVER over heated...
I over heated at the Dragon cuz my transcooler was mounted between my mufflers

Then you'll even be BETTER!
Less time of it running really hard... in an Autocross you might stay at the top of second through the whole course... that heats it up really nice when your on and off the throttle the whole time
