APS Kits? What Happened?
I was wondering if anyone knows what happened to them lately? They used to be on both Intense Motorsports and Performance Nissan's websites, and now they're gone!!!!!!! Availibility issues maybe? Anyone got any news?
The bug is getting bigger and bigger!!!! I think about how nice it would be to have a Viper or a Z-06, but then, I see my car clean, at a certain angle, at a certain time of day, in certain light, and I ask myself......WHY??????? A Turbonetics kit or APS and this car would be almost as much fun. Maybe even more, because it's MY baby!!!
Anyway, if anyone has any info on the APS kits, that would be great. I have a friend that has one and swears by it. I've riden in it and it was amazing!!!!! So if I go FI, it will most likely be the Turbonetics or APS.
Thanks, and keep the faith fellow Z'ers!!!!!!

We have both the Extreme TT and regular TT kits on our website. They have been selling pretty steadily. No changes. http://www.forgedperformance.com/store/home.php?cat=254
We ordered two Extreme kits, and they should be arriving sometime in July.

Let it be, be happy that we all have fast amazing Z's

Sharif is of course the first stop, the other reliable source would be Irshad at GRD
at http://www.grdperformance.com/
and if it matters I would not switch to a viper...forcefeed the Z and you'll be a happy man, just do all the proper research and ignore the bikkering

Go to www(dot)AirPoweredSystems(dot)com and you can look up all the dealers in the US. You should be able to find one in VA so that you can actually see the kit and probably get a ride in a APS TT Z.
Thanks for the uselful AND entertaining read. I really do think that once I get an FI kit on my baby, I will be at peace with the mod bug. Well for a long time anyway.
Thanks again.

Japtrix did an awesome job on the tune.

Not trying to discourage at all, just stating the facts from Peter/APS. This 380whp APS now states is the maximum they'll let leave their Australian shop with stock internals.

I would stronly recommend that you have the engine tuned by a competent engine tuner with a true load based dyno (turn down the boost pressure via the Unichio computer) especially if you're using 91 octane fuel, I would map the boost to a maximum limit of 8 PSI (other wise you may well detonate the engine to death, hope this helps.

We've got high fuel octane virtually everywhere in Oz (Premium unleaded 98 RON which is similar to your 93 octane) and we at APS tend to be far more conservative with power levels (rear whp power from approx 205 whp stock to approx 370 whp, twin turbocharged with stock cats and APS true dual exhaust system) with a 165 whp gain from the twin turbo system.
I think it's reasonable to say that when you start pushing for massive power/torque gains (400 + whp) from the stock engine that it's very possible to have an engine failure, the stock con rod has it's mechanical limits.

Obviously if you push the power boundaries of a bone stock engine at some point (most likey over 400 whp) you will find the limit of the stock rod/piston.
As I said previously, we at APS have twin turbocharged 42 Z cars (all produce around 370 to 380 whp on our dyno dynamics load based dyno, a genuine power gain of approx 165 whp over stock and to date we've never had a single engine problem, if you play hard with the stock engine (over 400 whp) there is going to be a number of engines that fail con rods/pistons imho.

It's always possible to tune the engine to a higher or lower power level, at APS we custom dyno tune every engine we'd never allow a stock TT engine to leave with over 380 whp. As I said previously, if the owner/tuner decide to tune for higher whp power then you have to accept the possibibility of a rod/piston failure, that's life with over 400 + whp with a VQ engine.
