Default Fair Warning! Project "SAA2" In Effect @ Forged Performance

Project SAA2

Yes a connecting rod no longer willing to cooperate ended the reign of Project “Shock And Awe”. Sharif @ Forged Performance and I are in the preliminary stages of rebuilding the beast in Project “Shock and Awe 2”.

A little history for those who don’t know. “Shock And Awe” has suckered in a few unsuspecting SRT 10 owners who would bait me into a race and then run cowering like puppies with their tails between their legs when I was done with them. I could pull 6-8 cars on an SRT10 from a roll between 70-140. From a stop I could pull 4 cars 0-125.

Here’s the usual scenario… Guy in SRT 10 rolls up on an otherwise stock 350Z. Other than being lowered, 19”wheels, and an exhaust my car looks stock. He figures he’s going to teach me a lesson with his bad *** V-10. I say “Bring it”. Then he says ”Oh snap”...That car just just ate my lunch.

Well those good old days are only memories now. A stock connecting rod said… “I won’t have it anymore” and walked off the job.

Soooo Im building…

With this forged build I am off to seek the limits of the T60 Turbonetics turbo. We know the T60 loses efficiency after 15psi. That’s no secret. But even though we reached 15 psi doesn’t mean we can’t flow more volume through the motor with other mods at the same 15psi boost level. It’s my goal to make 500 rwhp with no head modifications at all using a few bolt ons and on 93 pump gas.

We all know every 14.5 psi of boost you are doubling the output of the motor. With minor boltons such as a lightweight KJR crank pulley, an AAM plenum spacer, Alphawerks headers and a free flowing exhaust we should have a normally aspirated motor making about 300 flywheel horsepower easily. @ 14.5 psi that becomes 600 flywheel horsepower. After deducting the 15% drivetrain loss we come up with 510 rwhp.

It’s my belief that at some point the stock exhaust manifolds just can’t flow enough to reach 500rwhp. I’m replacing the stock manifolds with Alphawerks headers. They will flow considerably more volume.

The block build is un-extraordinary. It will be Arias extreme duty pistons 9.0-1, Eagle H beam rods, ARP L-19 head studs, ARP main studs, HKS head gasket, and a rev up oil pump. For a goal of 500 rwhp we believe these bits should be more than adequate.

Other items include Top Speed Pro-1 exhaust, CJM return fuel system, Deatschwerks 550 injectors, UTEC, and a TurboSmart Progate wastegate.

Sharif has placed the order for the built motor from GT Motorsports. I have all the parts I need ordered and we should have this back together and spreading further “shock and awe”, dealing unrelenting blows to Murcielago, Ford GT, Z06 Vettes and Ferrari F430 drivers from a measly T60 and 3.5 liters.

Stay tuned for updates. Lots of pics to be posted from Sharif’s shop.

Haha, man it is great to hear your new plans. Gonna be a beast that the SRT10 owner or many others just won't suspect

Also when are you dropping your car off and when will you be in town?

I will have to stop by and say howdy

Love the thread, JET......we need some vids of those SRT kills.

Hopefully your ride should be up and running shortly.

Tig, for 500whp+, and this customer's power goals in mind, Eagle rods are more than sufficient.

Eagle rods would still be good enough for 800whp, I would like someone to prove me wrong

Are you sure the SRT 10 was racing? I find it hard to believe putting that much distance on them even with your new 510rwhp setup unless you were racing the truck . Especially from a stop with their gearing and torque. Let's see the vids

No vids..... sorry. I spanked Vipers on a regular basis. One was a friends car. The others rolled up on me on the highway.

Here are the power to weight ratio facts

Lbs Per Hp

Mclaren F1 627 hp 3.86
Saleen S7TT 750hp 3.93
02 Ferrari Enzo 660 hp 4.56
05 Porsche Carrera GT 605 hp 5.02

350Z Turbo 3370 lbs 565 hp (467 whp) 5.97

06 Corvette Z06 505 hp 6.2
05 Ford GT 550 hp 6.32
05 Lamborghini Murcielago 571 hp 6.37
06 Saleen S281 Extreme Mustang 550 hp 6.45
01 Lamborghini Diablo VT SE 550 hp 6.5
05 Ferrari F430 483 hp 6.6
06 Dodge Viper 510 hp 6.6
05 Lamborghini Gallardo 500 hp 7.12
06 SL65 AMG 605 hp 7.55
01 Ferrari 360 Modena 400 hp 7.66
01 Ferrari 550 Maranello 485 hp 7.68
04 Corvette Z06 405 hp 7.69
06 Corvette 400 hp 7.9
05 Aston Martin Vanquish S 520 hp 7.95
06 BMW M5 500 hp 8.0
04 Porsche 911 TT 415 hp 8.1
06 Saleen S281 SC Mustang 8.16
05 Aston Martin DB9 450hp 8.37
01 Ferrari 456M 442 hp 8.42
06 SL55 AMG 493 hp 8.6
05 Aston Martin Vanquish 460 hp 8.79
06 Pontiac GTO 400 hp 9.31
04 Mustang Cobra 390 hp 9.40

My previous setup was 410 rwhp.... you do the math on that. Really... I have no reason to lie. I was amazed myself.

410rwhp/467rwhp will NOT leave a viper that nets 450-460 at the wheel the way you have described ANY day of the week. Just like a 850rhwp supra will not beat my blown vette from a stop--from a 60-70mph roll is a different story.

You do the math wt matters but so does gearing, the length of the run and traction.

I'd just like to see a vid or a 10sec time slip to justify the claims.
