Post Post Up Your F/I Maintenance Schedules

I have gotten a lot of PM's from folks interested in F/I, and pro's/cons oof one kit vs another. A couple of folks on the forum have made the statement that I belive in "F/I is not a cheap proposition"......they are right.

The designers of these F/I solutions have put a lot of time into their products. In my view, it is the purchasers job to fully research what the solution is intending to do(some products achieve a F/I solution differently....gotta understand the impacts)......fully understand what F/I is and finally.....the purchaser has to MAINTAIN the product and its design intent.....

To that end, for those with F/I, post up your Maintenance schedules(post your kit type and schedule).

Mine.....

APS/ST on a 5AT coupe

Oil..............synthetic...........................changed every 3K miles
Coolant.......standard green stuff............checked everytime I put 'her' away.
flush every 2yrs.

Leak Check..........gaskets, etc............................weekly

5AT Tranny flush.......Matic-J...........................every 25K(since F/I)

Cool-down..............................................EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT

Wow 5k? I plan on changing mine every ~10-15k and thought that was almost too often. They are like $70-80 for a set.

One of the reasons for this post was to get a feel for the range between different schedules....great info....keep it coming!

D350Z10 and TIMMAHH, thanks for your input on this, I am going to get my plugs changed this week-end(24K boosted miles).

I was using Amsoil until I burned off a ton on my last road trip. I'm using basic Mobil 1 10w-30 now. I'm not even sure anything else is worth the extra money.

It does burn off a lot, I usually see the results at around 2000 miles. I'm hoping the oil cooler I'm about to install will take care of this

ideally you'd do it twice a year, in the summer and in the winter to double check everything is where it should be and adjust for the different weather

depends on your setup and EMS though

Ahhh that helps. I drive about 1200-1500 a month lately so that was $ $ to me. But that often is not so bad.

Lets see...

Greddy TT 6MT...9psi...481whp...39k miles on engine...32k miles on turbos

Oil: Mobil 1 or Amsoil 10w-30 every 2500-3000miles (I switch between the two sometimes)
Coolant: Normal Green Coolant about every year (no set schedule)
Trans/Diff: Just changed Diff with Mobil 1 75w-90 at LSD replacement for the first time at 35000miles and about to change tranny in the next couple of weeks. (Diff is loud with Mobil 1...will switch to Redline)
Brake/Clutch: ATE SuperBlue/Type 200 (no set schedule)
Sparkplugs: 1-step colder NGK Copper (check every 10k or so, replace when needed)
Cooldown: Everytime from a hard run, or drive a few miles at low engine speeds
