Default PART II Sharif's DD/DJ Dyno Comparison

I finally had the time to go do a run on a Dyno Jet Dyno, as most of you know I had the car tuned by Sharif 2 weeks ago in Atlanta about 1100ft ASL. It put down 467 HP@11.5. UNCORRECTED. Last night I got it dynoed at a DJ dyno. It is 300ft ASL here. Well this guy also believes in the no correction deal. It put down 441@11.2 uncorrected. I also noticed while I was driving around with the UTEC logger on that my AF was around 10.3 thru some 3rd gear pulls on the street??? Rich.. Funny thing because when I went to Atl to get it tuned it was a little bit lean on the the base run. The only thing I can think of is the change in altitude is causing me to run a bit rich(going from ATL high altitude to Fayetteville, NC lower alt) witch is the cause of the lower numbers. sorry for the crappy dyno sheet. I included both Sharif's and the DJ sheet so you guys can compare. Also what are your guys 2 cents on the lower numbers. I know the dyno sheet show 12.5 A/F but on the street it a solid 10.5.

Eagle, can you get the Standard Correction number from this dynojet? An uncorrected DJ number is going to read very low in the summer months.

Don't forget..we still use STD atmospheric correction.

Also, I hope the run was in 5th gear. Our dyno measures the same power in all gears, but DJ's do not.

If you went from 1100 feet to 300 feet you'd actually be running leaner because the air is more dense.

How do you explain the diffrence in A/F, 10.5 in NC to 12's in ATL? Not saying your wrong.

Refresh my memory Luie. On your car, I think we installed the wideband probe directly in the exhaust stream...right?

Your AF, IIRC was mostly in the 11's on that run....deep into the 11's by redline. In terms of why the car ran richer on this dyno run...it could have been a bad wideband sensor, or temp may have effected things slightly. Probably too many variables to really even determine it. We use top quality NTK wideband sensors on our dyno, so I trust them more than anything.

I agree this dyno looked very primitive compared to the DD, He clipped the sensor on the exhaust tip (defiantly not as accurate as your probe) the reading of the 10.5 A/f was while I was driving from my Wide band, and that thing has like 3000 miles on it, so my wide band should not be the issue.

uncorrected dynos tell you what your car did on that dyno that day. SAE correction takes into account temp, elevation, atmosphere etc. Those are the numbers people usually want to see to get a somewhat more accurate comparison. If everyone used only uncorrected numbers, they'd mean nothing at all as far as a comparison - SAE at least tries to normalize the results

Id like to know rhe STD or SAE corrected dynojet numbers, not the actual, not a fair comparison. Impressive regardless though....

The owner of the shop call me and informed me that the dyno reading that was given to me was not accurate. Their dyno today has been giving inconsistent readings all day, and they are not sure if the dyno pulls I did were accurate. I was told to come by and get a voucher for another pull when they get their stuff together. So screw this Dyno queen stuff. I'll just post time slips until my engine build in December.
