Default If you own (or have owned) a Vortech or a Vendor/Installer of this Product...

Vortech has finally released their supercharger for the 2006 Z’s with the 6MT. I was seriously considering ATI’s ProCharger but after the feedback I have been receiving on my post in regards to that set-up, I have decided to re-think the Vortech. So my questions for you are these:

1) Are you happy with your Vortech? (Likes/Dislikes)
2) Were the gains what Vortech promise (55% over stock)?
3) Is the quality there?
4) If you installed this supercharger yourself, was it straight-forward...were any pieces missing...was there something that could have been done better by Vortech to make the install better or easier?
5) If you could do it all over again (or maybe you have) would you purchase the Vortech again, or would you go with another F/I set up?
6) Is the Fuel/Timing management system that comes with the Vortech easy to work with? Or would you recommend dumping that tuning kit and going with UTEC?

Thanks,
Joe

I had a Vortech kit. I did the install myself, after un-installing it from another friends car. The directions could definately be better/more clear, like the JWT TT directions. The SS box is quite adequate for modest power levels. THe gains were awesome! Ive never driven a turbo Z so I cant compare with one of those. If I didnt care about money, Id go with a TT setup (JWT via Sharif). But I didnt, I have no regrets from having the kit, got it at a good price.

1.) I love it.
2.) Makes tons of power, ask chimmike.
3.) Quality is great.
4.) If you can read and comprehend at at least 5th grade level, the directions are great.
5.) Vortech is the only one for me.
6.) For modest power the SS box is fine, mine made great power straight out of the box.

vortech is a much better company to give your money to.

I have had both vortech and ATI blowers on mustangs, and I'd never buy another ATI product. I'd rather stay NA than go ATI....just my opinion though

it wouldn't have taken a while But you still need a tune, so I'll give you the fact that it's untuned. ( I need a tune too.....good ole UTEC)

But yeah, it was between the vortech and TN for me, but I wanted the extra torque so I went TN.

Well I've been waiting for this for a long time and I can't wait to make the vid. I race a local with a procharged Z. It was closer than I thought it would be but I edged him out on the top end. I also had my subs in the Z (which I usually take out when I run it) and lost my a/c belt on the first run. Also I'm leaking fuel from the FMU line. I'm going to try and make the vid tonight. We are supposed to run them again but I'm going to wait till I fix my fuel leak.

I think you'd see that without that SSV on there
