keep in mind the 60-1 on the TN kit utilizes a 4 bolt t3 turbine housing as opposed to the typical t4 turbine housing on normal 60-1s

( I was having a discussion with a Supra guy who told me supras running 60-1's make 550-600whp so I looked into the turbines those guys were using versus ours heh)

I'll find out for you. I can tell you that the 60-1 turbo (compressor section) can come with any turbine you want. The Turbonetics kit uses a Stage V turbine wheel and housing with a .77A/R Tangential and 4 bolt discharge. I have a turbo sitting on my file cabinet at home and I'll measure it tonight.

lol, nah, im thinking the exhaust turbine outlet on the aps turbo is too small, its 2.5 inches for gods sake. they make a 3.5 inch downpipe and suggest their exhaust, but they have all the exhaust going into a small exhaust housing and being forced thru that 2.5 inch outlet. just doesnt make sense. im looking at getting a different exhaust housing with a 3 inch outlet and for an external wastegate.

im just want to see what size the TN turbo has.

Gotcha, I'll check that when I get home. And there my friend is the issue with internally wastegated turbos especially when you try to run a large turbo with an internal gate. What type of turbine inlet does that have? 4 bolt T4 or T3?

its gotta be a turbine housing backpressure issue. i did some measuring last night, the turbine housing is .63A/R, meaning no lag, no top end. i think the turbo is the GT35/40R, the compressor wheel measures out to be a 40R wheel so it cant be that. but that A/R is terrible. they make a T3 4 bolt 3" outlet turbine housing that i might just have to buy, but it uses an external WG.

.63 seems really smalle for that much airflow. The Turbonetics uses a .77 A/R just to keep spool up times decent but could probably go bigger...You could weld a wastegate mount on the last merge pipe. Either that or try running to wastegates one at each maifold exit.

No worries. If you want to try a different turbo hit me up. I'm sure I can find a turbo you would want for a nice price

Tig, if you go ahead with this plan, keep us updated.. I was planning on installing external wastegate anyways.. Good luck with your R&D!
