+1000000

Track is the only somewhat safe place to go fast, if one does not care about the legalities think of the people you might injure.
Also you can get track insurance that will pay for the car based on what you invested not like regular insurance in case of damage.

Tom, that RaceLogic sounds tempting. Does it really work that well with the engine/ lsd/ Nissan TC turned on or off?

Just curious because right now, I have to ease in the gas at lights for fear of spinning like mad. I like the idea of the launch control and full throttle shift more then the actual traction control though.

I may actually look into the racelogic if dialing out my camber doesnt help my traction issues. 13psi brings me spinning in 3rd about 50% of the time, even if I ease into it. Fun yet scary at the same time. Good to see your enjoying your power a little more, wait till you turn the boost up!

The racelogic really works.
You disable the TCS/VDC - I got one othese KP switches that keeps it turned off even if you turn off the car.

You dial in your wheel diameters front and rear, that way you can have settings for different wheels (streets vs track)
you have 25 settings: Wet which is identical to the stock traction control, 10 is very good for daily driving on street tires and 25 is great for racing. It allows enough wheel spin that I can even launch well on slicks.

When it engages it's very smooth not jerky, it basically cuts the fuel feeds on 1 injector and ramps up based on wheel spin.
You can hook up a laptop to it and record runs and finetune on how drastic and when you want to engage it.
I am really very happy with it

Id love to see a video of you just dumping it at 4000rpm on street tires to see how it reacts. Do you have it dialed in where you can dump it, and it will allow just enough wheelspin for a decent street launch?

I did one back before my engine was build but didn't tape it.
Once I got my new setup all going I'll have a friend take a video, I'm curious too on how it'll react now with that much more power

Well - that is the end of it - we are no longer twins. Great numbers!

I probably won't go for more hp for at least another year since it is already a beast to drive on a road track! Yet, my goal is to get as close to 560rwhp without going over since they it will up my class. As it is I already have to go after the GT3, Turbos and Vipers. If I go over 560rwhp they will move up to compete with GT3 Cups and 430's!

the race logic system is simply amazing. i got to spend about a hour on the roads and in a huge parking lot behind the wheel of a 2006 viper coupe with a blower on it. we had just installed the race logic and I was testing it all various slip %'s.

all i can say is... WOW, best time i ever had in a car. for those 60 minutes or less, i was DK.

Im not trying to be a dick but that same damages that would occur during a "street race" will also occur at a track, its the same load on the engine so it doesnt really matter. Also you have a built motor now correct? you should be fine at 500whp or so.

Anyways i do street race but i just think you should still take it to the track.

can we not have a street racing discussion in my thread please

it's bad, dangerous, stupid and it sucks. Take it to the track or don't race.

Thank you!

on a more positive note. I got down to 960 miles on the new engine, will hit 1000 on the way home.

I can't wait to go to Fontana tomorrow and try it out. I'm not expecting too great results because I haven't run 1/4 in months and the entire car feels different but I still think I should get some decent numbers.

Tom,
What tires are you running? I corded my Toyo R1's and now have 305 Nitto DR's which while great traction in the dry, just scared the bejeus outta me the other day driving in a rain storm.. I was hydroplaning like a mother... Looking to switch to maybe 295 KDW, or 285 Nitto 555's.

I really want the fattest tire I can get, but all of them are DR's once you go above 295. I am looking at the new Nitto 555 RII which are competition road race /autocross tires. I can get these in 305x35x18’s but just not sure of the wet weather abilities…. ?
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
--B

I totalled my first Z in the rain driving on DR's, never again....

on the street I'm driving Toyo T1R's
295/35/18 in the rear and 255/45/17 in the front

at the Track I'm running 26x10.5x15 ET Streets and for IDRC 275/35/15 BFG DR's but that was for the old setup with the new power I'll probably will get the ET Street Radials at 295

Do you have to change the oil at 1000 miles, also what oil are you running? My friend has been doing test on diffrent types of synthitics and so far the German Castrol 0-30 wt is the best, last one we have to test is Red line.

Exactly what kind of "test" is your friend doing on the oil?

Right now it has non-synthetic oil after that I was going to go back to Amsoil but Sam is recommending Redline, so I might go that route
