Default Sharif at Forged Internals for F/I Plunge?

First let me say hi everyone, I am back to the forums after a long break and much lurking (as you can see by post count). Lots of good info here and some amusing banter as well.

I am considering having Sharif from forgedinternals do the first major mods to my Z (taking the FI plunge) and wanted to see what the general feeling was from people that have gone to him. I have searched some and don't see any negative posts so that is comforting.

I would also be interested to hear what kind of work and numbers you guys have gotten from his shop.

I have a 2003 Daytona Blue Z with only a few minor things done; UR 3 Pulley Set, B&M Short Throw Shifter, Nismo CAI, Wheels and tires, replaced the front reflectors, LED 350 sills, and some radio work.

Looking to spend no more than 15 grand, and this is the work we are haggling over

-Greddy TT w/Intercooler, BOV, Return Fuel System, UTEC
-APS 3" Exhaust and APS Test Pipes
-Turbo Timer, 3 Gauge A Pillar and the 3 Gauges for it
-Possibly a JWT Clutch/Flywheel combo
-All the install work and tuning

We are looking at ending up just a shade over 400whp.

Thoughts? Feedback? Suggestions? I am looking at driving up from Central Florida to him (470ish miles) so just want to make sure I have done all my homework!

Thanks! -Craig

AAHH, thats the way to go. Just left the shop today and he had a shop full of cars. I think he is the way to go for any G/Z performance parts, install, and tuning. But that is just my suggestion. But out of all the shops in the south east Forged is the only shop I would ever let touch my car.

My only problem that I have with Sharif...is that he is too far away from me! I just need to move to GA and be done with it!

You will not be disappointed with Sharif...he knows his business and he knows our cars like no one else!

Thanks guys, keep em coming! Looking like this is definitely going to be worth the drive.

Who else has had work done by Sharif? Any comments on the build I am looking at?

I was happy to be his first customer in his new shop. I cancelled my install at another shop and waited close to a month passed the orginal install date just to have my work done at Forged. You wont find anyone more professional than Sharif. And when, not if but when, I decide to build my motor and go with that whole turbonetics stage 2 thing I'll be going straight back down to Marrietta. Theres your free plug in Sharif haha.

Your plans sound good to me!

I first met Sharif when he was here in NC. I now find my self driving 6hr just for a tune. He tuned my car twice once @ 9.5lbs and now @ 11.5. Pushing 467 @ the wheels. With basically the same set up your going with (but I have a PE TT and a rev-up motor. I liked to say that my car is his test rat for the rev-up engine. The most important thing you could ask from a shop is customer service, and thats what you get from Sharif. I am tracking my car every weekend to better my driving skills, so I am really pushing this stock motor and she is holding up like she was stock. I know for a fact that NO one in this forum that has had their rev-up (stock internal) tuned by Sharif is pushing their car like I am. My car has over 50 1/4 runs and 10 auto X's since it was boosted. No leaks, no smoke, no strange noises. I just wish I had better traction. Go to him you will NOT be disappointed. Good tune, good install, good service. www.forgedperformence.com No I don't get any kickback or special deals for praising the shop. I have to "pay to play" just like everyone else.

Good enough for me! Now if Sharif would just get his butt back in email so we can hammer this thing down I can start planning the trip.

Thanks to all the replies, I will make sure to get good before and after numbers for everyone, and if Sharif cooperates maybe even some pics

By the way Eagletanggreen, beautiful Z and very very nice numbers! If you don't mind me asking how are your times in the 1/4?

I will eventually go to a built motor and move forward with higher whp but for now 15 grand is my cap. If you dont stop somewhere you will never stop!!

Plus I am using mine for a daily driver and would hate to see the motor explode into many pieces...400ish should be OK to start with.

Thumbs up

Sharif built my engine and just installed a new Greddy TT. I have been doing business with him for over a year now and have become good friends with him. He is such an honest guy that he constantly talks me out of mods that are a waste of money. There is no better!!

Also you might want to consider a different clutch/flywheel combo that can handle more power if you want it.

Wow..thanks for all the kind words....really makes the long hours worth it. I was up until 5:30am last night...helping a customer/friend in need. It's been really busy the past couple days...getting some cars tuned and ready for Nopi and various track events.

Freak, I am on email pretty consistently mon-fri, so no worries...I will be touch. Looking forward to it. Lemme just finish tuning these two cars...then I need about 12 hours of SLEEEEEP. Then we can talk more on Sunday.

+1 Your going to really need a good clutch, good to do it now.

Well I am having some traction issues, I just cant put all that power down with street tires. My best is 12.5 @ 117.

This customer is starting from scratch, so we need everything..turbo kit, fuel system, engine management, gauges, boost controller, exhuast..etc..etc..and of course...the labor.

No worries Sharif, I am just busting your horns a little Do what you gotta do and get some rest after! You have been more than patient and responsive with me.

Nice to see my little inquiry turn into such a Sharif love-fest. LOL Just makes me glad I am going with the best.

Azula - sure you can but like he said I don't have anything done to this point motor wise, so it's a fresh start.

I figure to take it as far as I safely can on a stock motor and look at the motor build once I am used to 400whp.

Oh and the stronger clutch would be nice, but this one (as I understand it) should be good to 450 or so whp, I just really really need to stay at or below the 15k mark right now as a budget.

Thanks again for all the replies folks, as usual they were more than helpful.

i, too, am a forged performance believer... sharif and devon are two of the nicest guys you'll ever meet... they put up with my **** retentiveness during my vortech install... and trust me, that's no easy feat...

i am the first revup vortech that sharif has done and outside of blowing off a fuel line (vortech's fault as they sent shoddy fuel connector) there has been no issue... sharif was able to tune my car to nearly 350rwhp on his "uncorrected" dyno with stock exhaust and cats! how do you like that!

outside of his truly amazing tuning abilities, he offers customer service second to none... honestly, i'm lucky as hell to have him in my backyard... even if he weren't, i wouldn't think twice about driving 470 miles to have him work on my G... i'd drive from cali if i had to...

many thanks, props and kudos to sharif and devon... i'm a 1000% satisfied customer...
