actual side to side bends. not how towards the end of the rod it curves into the bearing. but looking at the rod still in the motor i can see the rods are bent..from left to right

Your rods are bent...and that is not normal. There is the source of your rod knock.

Who did the tune...congrats on testing the limits!

I think people will find, that the rev-up motors are going to be running 475-500whp on the stock block easily...only time will tell.

Sharif you did the tune bro lol.

I was running 100 oct with Methanol Injection....there was no detonation.

Utec ems.

I think the rods just had all they took...I believe if there was any detonation period there would have been a hole in the piston.

The motor has 45k miles with about 14k F/I miles. Just by the amount of rods that are bent, I was just really pushing "my" block really hard.

I am happy with the results of everything! I really wanted to know what a stock block with the stock rev limit would handle. Or atleast what mine would handle. Everyones will be different. Not all casts are created equal and never will be. I feel if the rev was higher the rods would have snapped and not just bent. Although more power would have spelled out a different story!

So you think 450-460 on the revup would be condsidered what we would call "safe" on a good tune?

LOL...geezus..I cant keep all these screenames straight. But I dont recall tuning it to 480whp+.

Looks like that's all that stock block could take.

I am feeling more confident of that...yes....but for now, its still considered a slightly higher risk power level.

LOL well...no you didnt tune it to 480+

Just want to make it clear tho that it was not your tune or mine that caused it to break. Both tunes where really good.

My guess is when i started going over 460 it started to bend the rods...a few passes at 480+ just was too much.

I'll be back tho
