What have you guys used to do this easily, what worked and what didn't. It the Unichip copable or does anyone recomend another piggyback?? (utec)
Also can the stock APS fuel support that much, what are max psi have you guys run with it??
thanks for any advice.

First , the aps actuators are for 13 lb , if you want run more than this, you would need to change the actuators.
Second , the stock aps fuel system is for 450 rwhp, for low comp engines , and around 500 rwhp ,for stock comp engines.
I´m in the limit for the aps fuel system, with 450 rwhp at 10 psi, and need to replace all the fuel system and the unichip ,to raise the boost to around 13 lb. See my mods down here.

Many of us discovered the stock actuators wouldn't hold 10lbs. I upgraded to heavier Garrett actuators and then Forge actuators. The Garretts were every bit as effective for half the cost. The boost controller on the APS kit is kinda cheesy, so you may want to upgrade to an electronic boost controller. UniChip has been used in cars claiming over 700whp, so you shouldn't have to dump it. I run 17psi on race-gas.

I really doubt that you are making 700 whp with only a unichip in a Z car...........it is capable only to + - 50% MAF correction , and the MAF is maxed out to around 6 lb of boost. The unichip isn´t capable to handle injectors over 450cc with 58 lb of fuel pressure ( fuel pressure for the aps fuel system ) , if you are making 700whp with 450cc injectors you are god......

RedLeader didn't say he was making 700whp but that others have claimed it. Also, you can use larger injectors with the Unichip by flashing your ECU for bigger injectors.

Default UniChip

al v,
Yeah, I'm only making 562whp with my UniChip and RC 650 injectors. I was referring to BigBri & Marleucci, who reportedly are/were making over 700.
Scott Performance was one of APS' golden-boys, so they're making that power with a UniChip.

UniChip was developed with race-cars in mind, so it has all sorts of potential. My critisizms are that only UniChip tuners have the software and hardware interface necessary to tweak it, and it's supposed to be a really archaic format (may even be DOS) OMG!

In a nutshell, mine is an everyday driver and I've put 10K on it since the last round of tuning/mods without a hiccup. If it ain't broke.......

Ok, no problem , but I think that you and all guys with more than 500 whp with only MAF corrections , are in a very risk situation.............just my opinion.

I thought the unichip with the APS kit had a map sensor.

Are you happy with the AAM fuel system or would you have gone with CJs or the APS system?

OK, how about if I put it this way, what it will do the job the best. For max power of 550rwhp.

1. Stock APS fuel and Unichip

2. APS tuner kit (AAM fuel kit, Utec ECU)

I want the ability to be able to change maps easily,
I really like the power that RedLeader is making!!

I don't believe the Unichip itself does, but the boost control module that comes with the kit does.

#2 is your only option. The stock APS fuel system is good for only 500whp at the stock compression ratio and the Unichip can only store one map.

If you're targeting 550 horses, you'll need to upgrade the fuel system. There are more choices available now than there were when I was putting mine together.

The UniChip that came with the APS turbo kit only has a single map, but the new UniChips are supposed to be map-switchable and have Blue-Tooth! I keep waiting for the AEM unit to come out, but I heard a couple of weeks ago they lost a couple of their key people.

Happy shopping!

this is the first that I've heard of this, can you give me any more info on this???
Thanks

APS extreme fuel kit?? has anyone used it, or even found a price range I have not been able to my self
it says that it is good for 600-1000 hp does that mean that it can not work for power levels below that??

price out the other kits and then factor in you get the fuel pumps, fuel pump assembly and injectors with the APS setup and it is the best value. Yes it can be ran for HP less than 600. I know if you find you have too much fuel, you can change out the FPRs for lower bar ones. http://www.grdperformance.com can send you out one - I think retail is around 2 grand.

Mine goes in next week
