Don't worry, something is coming next spring-summer...
Like you had a moment of clarity a few month back and thought about going with a different car, I had the same thing. There will be an LS2 with a T-67 turbo. I'll make significantly more power then any stock bottom Z/G does, have great comfort and drivability and be very happy.
I'd start it earlier, but I am waiting on prices for used '05 GTOs to drop to about 20G.

Actually I've had my mind on it for the last 3-4 month. The turbo seems like the standad FI for the GTO, there are already 2 ST kits out for it, plus APS is finishing up a more affordable one (aiming for 6-6.5K, good for upto 1000whp with engine mods, according to Peter), both ST's are based on 67mm turbos, with 76mm as an option, both include high quality components, like Garret turbos, Tial WG/BOV, etc. The ECU is very tuner friendly, the prices are more accessible, you get more power comparing bolt-on to bolt-on, etc.
BUt anyway, this thread was about someone complaining about his APS ST ot making enough power...

358 sounds about right. I am running 359 (corrected) at the wheels with a very conservative tune on the APS ST, so you are right on the $$$
