I plan on going with a turbonetics st on my 03 auto but I wanted to know is there anything that I should look out for when buying the kit or gettin it installed?

Also does anyone have this kit on there auto or know anything else about it?

From my understanding, at stock power levels with the kit there should be no need for a valve body upgrade.

I had my supercharger for 400miles 367whp 335tq and the tranny blew. I had to buy a brand new transmission and right now my cars at carv2 getting the SGPracing Valve body. Dont even do it until you have the money to get the vb. Also you need a tranny cooler.

So the stock tranny is really not strong enough to handle the turbo?

I've had my vortech for 2 weeks and have put 1,000 miles on it already. My tranny is fine. No issues other than the ones I had before f/i, which are minor and the dealer is looking into it because I mentioned to them I had it before and they're cool like that. Also, I have 47k miles on my car. You should flush your tranny and change your rear diff fluid before the install, though, if you haven't recently.

The only thing is, I'm not sure about a turbo. It's a hit or miss. Our tranny is very strong, but you never know, just like with the engine. Some people last thousands of miles, some dont make it off the dyno. It's a risk you have to be willing to take. Also 400 lb/ft when you shift with a turbo is going to put a lot more stress on the tranny.

I suggest you do a lot more research and use the search function and then buy the kit in 2 months.

post a thread and getting a couple answers is not enough to go FI.. research research research

its not knowledge of cars and turbo that are the issue.. its knowledge of the High compression VQ Engine and Turbo Kits that wern't mean't to be attached to it..

if you already have that knowledge.. then i say go forth

Nitrous is worse.. its INSTANT power.. unless you get a progressive controller... HP is HP .. TQ is TQ .. weak engine is a weak engine.. you are going to blow your engine on the same HP and TQ if your engine is weak if you have an SC, Turbo or Nitrous..

and don't give me the.. i am not running Nitrous most of the time and i only use it when i race.. same goes for a turbo...

I dont think nitrous is worse. In the 3+ years Ive been on this site, Ive never read of anybody blowing a motor on nitrous-up to 150 shot. Only"person" to do it was Performance Nissan and Andrew Rubio driving back in the day testing the limits-before the PE TT kit went on that car. N20 is so much easier IMO, and because it cools the intake charge so much, the timing doesnt have to be dead on like on a turbo car (150shot retard is only 3 or 4 degrees compared to 10-12 degrees retarded for a turbo set-up @ redline)many guys just run race gas with stock timing and have no issues and make great power. In the past few months we have had 3 or 4 guys run from 11.8-12.3 @ 115-119mph on stock blocks and decent set-ups. Stock block TT owners look out
