the problem is Im a college student and its probably going to be a while before I can save up 10k all at once, thats the only reason I was going to approach it like combat was saying. I recently aquired a great job with much better income where I can start modding a little at a time (before I could only afford the payment of the car). Through high school I modded my old eclipse all the time and I hate not being able to ...

definitely save up if you're even having trouble saving up 10K for it. Think of going turbo as a 20K+ mod... It's not just the turbo kit. It's the "cushion" for reliability.

I don't understand the point, what are you going to do, buy some rods and pistons and have them collect dust, just so you can talk about how "you're serious about going F/I" ??

In your financial situation it would be foolish to consider FI. Save your money for more important things like food and shelter.

The main issue is that probably about 50% of people on the forum say they're "going F/I soon"

and a million threads get started about what their tentative plans are for "going F/I"

then everyone realizes:

a) they haven't done any research
b) they don't have any money
c) they want a safe and reliable setup like a stock, un-modded car
d) they're living in a pipe dream

Then the person who made the thread doesn't want to listen to the people who have gone F/I. They want to take advice from people who don't know ****.

Think of going turbo as a 20K+ mod... It's not just the turbo kit. It's the "cushion" for reliability.
Well said Nitrouz!

And then think new wheels, suspension, exhaust, tires, clutch, flywheel . . . . . . . the list becomes endless.

I have about 7k I can spend on my car right now . . . . . college makes you poor but I have decided it's finally time to start working my *** off . . . . . . I really want a Twin Turbo; waiting for the HKS kit . . . . . .

Bump to this. Just look at the 3 new items from GTM that popped up this week.....cams, gears, stroker kit. As more times go by there is going even more mod choices for the vq. IMO don't buy your mods until you are ready to install. just save your cash cause like a said earlier.....3 months later there might be better mods available than what you bought and you will want them.
