Since we live in Colorado which has an atmospheric pressure drop of about 2.5 PSI from sea level, does that compensate for his 9 psi boost? I would think that would make it like he is effectively only running 6.5 psi boost.

Does that compute. Not really sure how alitude affects safety thresholds of turbo kits.

my map on the UTEC is showing 8.5-9psi and a little bit more hear and there. With the MBC and just the little 2 psi-ish bump it's having a fun time keeping boost at 9psi - it varies quite a bit. I'm going to look at getting a softer spring for really finite adjustments. So the engine itself is effectively seeing that boost, and not 2 psi less. FWIW, with just the wastegate springs at 7.5psi, the MAP showed 6.6, I figured the pressure loss was just from the IC or something as it's really less than a pound. I'm pretty sure the MAP is relative and not absolute, but I may not be right.

The Colorado question got me thinking because I live in Phoenix (~1200ft) but go to Prescott a lot (~5200ft). I will be getting a Greddy kit next month with a UTEC and AAM fuel return. I was trying to decide if the fuel return was needed for 7psi or less boost where I plan to be.

Questions: With a Greddy boost controller and a UTEC with MAP and selector switch could I have one tune @6-7psi for Phoenix and a second for Prescott with higher boost to make up for the altitude loss?

Thanks!!
