Like 'rocks' is saying, ... there is Nothing wrong with going with a different turbo. There are Litereally hundred's of combinations one could choose, with So many good turbo companies to choose to work with.
I just love how people on this board think inside the box so much, ... it gives others the chance to really stand out.

You dont have to use a turbonetics turbo on turbonetics piping. This forum is really crappy about trying new things on these cars, i like how every just throws money at name brand crap. Its like doing something yourself will make you go to hell and get struck down by the hand of god.

actually I disagree. I don't think there are many good turbo companies....or many that even use their own wheels/cartridges. ITS/Precision uses all garrett cartridges but may make their own housings, however I've had bad experiences with both of them (as have many of my friends), Garrett, Mitsu, Borg-Warner, TN, and I think Holset, are the only ones who use their OWN wheel/cartridge designs/productions.

TN uses a T3 on on the 350Z. A T4 will not bolt up.

Well, I disagree with that. I don't think people are just throwing money at name brand stuffs... They just want to wait and see for reviews and do some research with real life data so they don't go through some of the headaches that people experience (at least I do but new things are funnn ). On the other hand... we might as well just thank the people who are trying new things

Actually we are both right. It's a T3 compressor with a T4 turbine.

no, you've got it backwards. it's a regular 60-1 compressor side, while the turbine side utilizes a t3 housing (smaller) for better response/spool up.

i agree with rocks on this one. Chances are there are 20+ turbos out there which will boltup. But u will have to do some research and then try a few combinations. A quick glane tells me the turbo is a t3 inlet flange, and outlet flange would be 4bolt! the largest frame T3 turbo would be from ATP, GT3582R.

There Are many companies that do good things with so many turbos! That's a Fact not an opinion. I am sorry that you may know people that 'had a bad experience' with Precision, or whomever, ... but I can not think of One company that has not has some sort of issue with One of their turbos..... just look at all the issues on This board alone... with a few different brands.

Forced Performance is another amoung the ones you mentioned that has made it easier with so many options. Borg Warner and Bullseye Power have some sick a$$ options right now ....

my only point is along with what rocks is saying, ... I think too many people on these Z and G boards only look towards the active vendors for what their opinions are, ... and go the "bolt on" route, ... how many people do you see in this community that does All of their own work, vice other communities??? All I usually see are people posting about "this shop did this for me, and that shop this that".
If more people would explore the MANY options out there, we would move ahead faster....

Before I put down $2300 or so on a new GT-K I want to know what my options are.

The Stage 1 system has a T3 flange on it. The Stage V is an oversized T3 turbine. The exducer is actually larger then a T4 turbine but the major diameter is aout .001 smaller. As for a turbo that will bolt up it will be difficult to fine. The tangetial 4 bolt discharge is failry common but you still may need to fab the downpipe to get it to fit.

Because they are taking care of me on the 60:1. I need more power than that can make and I'm looking to either get a GT-K or if possible another turbo that can make 500whp.

This isn't about the warranty claim. It's about MO POWA!!!!

^ werd i personally have nothing bad to say about turbonetics, the man is just not getting his fix.. he needs more and there are other companies that can deliver with slight modification .. now aftermarket turbos are for the most part universal .. if you change the flange or use an adapter and run a DP right off the back.. it just has to physically fit to work

the bigger snail will likely require different piping to take advantage of it, so it'd be at least smart to wait and see what all it includes.
