I don't want to swap out the 60:1 and in a few months replace is again with a GT-K unless there is a really good reason.

The power production from these units will be nothing short of amazing is why. Without having a turbo to give you to see the difference I understand why you have no reason to wait. If you absolutely must have a different turbo now then I encourage you again to explore the options out there. The GT-Ks are going to be some of the best turbos on the market but production takes time. I understand scheduling issues and time constraints as I deal with them every day in my job. All I can tell you is that the wait will be worth it but if your needs are immediate and you have to use another turbo then make sure you choose wisely. Turbonetics can make a custom config for you if you are interested given your final goals and current setup. But as before all turbos made by Turbonetics are not on the shelf. Turbonetics doesn't stock turbos like some companies. Each one is built to order. If you need something right now I would highly suggest you email the Sales/Engineering team on Monday with your ultimate goals (peak numbers, curve, etc) and let them size one of the currrent units for you. If it was me I would wait for the GT-Ks but I don't know what kind of constraints you are under so by all means whatever you need to do to meet them please do. But please just choose wisely.

what are the stage 1 guys supposed to do if they upgrade to Stage 2? We have a custom turbo from the Stage 1 kit that would be very difficult to sell on it's own....

Tubronetics needs to step up and offer something nice to all the stage 1 customers. The stage 1 system is obviously flawed as ALL these systems cannot take advantage of the car's normal powerband. My car has a 7200 rpm revlimit (stock) and the car peaks at 5300!

I have said more then once there will be a seperate "upgrade" price on the Stage 2 kit for those who already have a Stage 1. I don't know what the price will be or how they are going to work it but I do know it will be different.

As for flawed and not able to take advantage of the power band, my power band is fine and has always been. Heres my stock dyno:
Heres one of my car at 9 PSI: http://members.***.net/w.suarez/350dyno11-15-04.pdf

Jet,

If you are going to spend $2500 on a new turbo why not just sell your TN kit and buy a greddy kit? You could get at least $3K for you kit after you get the turbo fixed by TN. Then you could sell the 440's and emanage from the greddy kit for at least $700. After you sell your ST and the 440's/emanage the TT will only have cost you about $1,800.

BTW I am not trying to start a ST vs TT war. It just seems like this would be a less expensive option that is available right now and that would allow you to grow in the future if you crave more power down the line.

I'm not looking into spending $2500. I am looking at spending $1500 or so. The labor to swap the turbo kits is prohibitive not to mention a new exhaust for the TT and the fact that I have all the pipes on the TN kit jet-hot coated. That cost $600. What I am asking for is possible by just swapping the turbo.

A few options I have been looking into are the Borg Warner turbo http://www.bullseyepower.com/ with the extended tip compressor wheel or the Garrett GT series.

MIA,

yours is the only one I have seen that pulls cleanly. All of that should be moot when the Stage 2 comes out.

Also, I sure hope TN takes care of us Stage 1 owners. Jet's comments that there will NOT be an upgrade path is concering though. I'm sure he has been incontact with TN recently, but you are very well informed. Hopefully, we'll all know the exacts of the Stage 2 upgrade soon.

That dyno is HP and boost. Not Tq. Craigs dyno pulls cleanly too though

That TQ is crazy. What limites HP from beating TQ? Is it airflow?

Usually its back pressure. But taurrans dyno is not any tuning. Taurran just turned the boost up to 9.5 PSI using a Blitz sbc-iD on the out of box reflash. AFR is still perfect and those were the numbers.

the turbine housing on the turbo in the stage 1 kit is essentially what makes it like that, IMO.

Correction - that day I was hitting just under 9.1psi on the dyno with the blitz sbc.

Saying there will not be an option to upgrade makes entirely no sense. This is what the whole "stage" system implies.
