Fuel cell finally :)
Got a teaser pic of my fuel cell. Ill have more in a couple of days
ATL was awsome to deal with.

Those are the bosch 044 pumps which i believe is on the AAM stage 2 system. Each one flows about 300lph free flow and 200lph at 5 bar, setup should be good for 1300bhp in theory.

Not sure exactly what the brand name is of the hoses.
The center line is the return line. The pumps are mounted in a surge tank that has 3 trap doors and guiding veins that go across the fuel cell to keep fuel around the pumps.

Can anyone explain, or link to, an explanation of what the purpose of a "fuel cell" is? What makes it better than your typical fuel tank?
Everytime I search google I get a lot of web pages talking about the type of "fuel cell" that generates electricity...

i have used those bladders before in race cars. neat stuff.
whenever i use that style bosch pump, i remove the fitting in the top that it comes with, because banjo fittings do not flow super well. you can put a AN fitting straight into the pump - not that it matters, yo uhave more then enough pump anyway so its fine im sure.
looks good.

a fuel cell is basically a lightweight fuel tank, it can be in many different sizes and weighs almost nothing. most of them are sumped in the back so all the fuel goes towards the back bottom and thats where the pick up lines are.
i love my fuel cell, i wouldnt go back to stock setup ever.
nice setup man!!

Im going to try it with the banjo connectors first and if there are any problems ill switch it out for AN fittings and see what happens.
Heres what the whole surge tank/collector looks like.

- Fuel starvation (this is the main reason)
- Weight
- Safety
Here are some Q and A's on fuel cells:

So it's not a fuel cell in the tradition sense. Basically a performance gas tank that's lighter and safer? I thought one of the reasons the Z tank was so big was to help with overall balance of the car. Doesn't a lightweight fuel tank spoil some of the handling? How much fuel can you put in the car after the conversion?

its running around in a viper being tested. the CAD files exist for the Z unit, and the material is in stock to make it... but we have been too busy trying to keep up with the currently available products, and the demand is still too low. We may even wait all the way until spring to release it, just cause. We also are thinking of adding those cheap Siemens 60lb injectors that APS uses in their "extreme" kit to our inventory (since they only RETAIL for 350 a set, and if you crank the fuel pressure like they do, you can call them 800+cc), or maybe putting them in with the twin pump kit or something.... we got Viper products and Rx7 products in final stages of testing and once they are done and on the new website in the making, the twin Z pump project will get final testing on the balance of the venturi siphon then its ready to go.
if someone actually called us and said YES i need it now, rather then in 2 months, we would probably just put it together and adjust the siphon then send it out. the rocket science is done, we just have to cut it out of the billet..... i could probably post a pic of an old prototype, but hmmmm... the bad guys might be looking.

The empty hole in the top plate is for the fuel level sender which i dont have yet.
