All what i can to keep it a cool spool (pics)
Hi guys keep u updated on my project. engin is closed now w8ing the waste gate manifold to get it on and get the engin mounted mean while i thought of doing all the cooling mods that could help as u know what they say every lil bit helps so we covered the turbo menifold, then we placed a heat shield on the turbo, and we r just about to do the water tab to help cooling the engin (moding the original 1 and not the pathfinder 1).
Maybe you didn't see my other post, maybe you did, but i offered to let you use my WG manifold if you were desperate to get your motor in. Then you could just ship me yours when you got it. Anyway, nice pics.
I guess it gets the job done, but I personally went with jet hot coating on the manifolds, and turbo housings. IIRC it was only $150. It's a lot cleaner and works better. It's not too late to get yours done. I have almost 20K miles on my kit and the manifolds and turbos still look brand new.

If you have a fuel leak and it soaks into that wrap it will be like a torch. I also made my own turbo blankets for the hot sides out of 2000 degree aluminum heat wrap.

Looks nice.
Jet Hot is just a brand name, and a pretty crappy one at that. You can find many local shops that do 2000 degree powdercoating (which is the same thing) for less money and with a much faster turnaround.

Definitely a good idea to do all you can to keep heat in the right place, and out of the wrong places.
But just FYI, most of the heat of the intake air will be coming from the compression process itself. I'm sure you knew that already, but whatever...
