Ok everyone today I did some light weight reduction on my car for this fridays test and tune night take a guess how much weight I took off. This is what went off.

Spare tire jack and tools
Plastic parts
Carpeting
Doors
Stereo and all speakers
Passanger seat

And all stored nicely away.

I will let you all know the weight off all this tonight so feel free to guess.

My car actually has full interior right now. I've got the 13lb cf SPL seats though for weight reduction along with the battery relocation. Most of the interior plastic was surprisingly light, but It gave me much more room to fit my race tires in it. Might have to rip some of it back out to go to Texas World Speedway in a couple weeks. Fitting 4 race tires in the Z isn't easy.

Kuah installed it up at SPL, but I'm not sure if he ever packaged it into a kit. Shoot him an email or call hte shop to be sure. If you don't want to relocate it going to a smaller and lighter battery in the stock location is always another option.

so 162 lbs weight savings from stripping the car. So like a tenth of a second. Sounds like a waste of time to me.

Why not put race gas in and turn up the boost, more power can haul more weight.

Believe it or not only took me like 30 min to strip it out. When you start running low 12's trying to get into the 11's ever bit helps. 162 lbs is closer to 2/10 of a second.

Sure but putting more power makes it harder to put it to the ground. I think my power level at this time is fine.

Hey bro my car is 3265lbs, make sure you weigh the car with you out of it. put half tank of fuel. Do you have DR's? I ran 11.9 with these turbos. IMO dropping weight will help your trap but will be harder to get off the line (unless you have DR's or slicks). When I took 170 lbs out of my car, I traped 2mph better my trap was the same and my 60ft sucked *** (this is with street tires) when I put my Dr's on I broke into the 11's. I tell you when you have 400hp Z getting into the 11's is a great challenge but when you get there its like riding a bike. Remember warm the tires up very good (lot of smoke). Good luck film your runs!

Yeah I got slicks. I also dropped over 350 lbs from my last run of a 12.54 on street tires.
