time to get the TXS solenoid and test this out!!! would be much better than using the EBC...
Directly from Turbo XS's website..
Upgrade Notes:

1. The 'Wastegate Closed Below MAP (psi, OFF = 0)' is not working properly at all in ver 2.7, and stays constantly on WGS (waste gate shut) mode at all boost levels. This means that if you are using the boost solenoid output, then any time you are above 80% throttle, the solenoid would hold open at 100% duty which would make the car overboost.

2. The 'Spare Solenoid ON above MAP (psi)' is faulty in ver 2.7. If you set a value such as 0psi, it would not turn on until about 30 or 40psi.

Guess it was the Spare Selenoid on based on MAP that they had issues with, the RPM must have worked.

Nice! So how much power did you make there Mr. Julian? Why are you holding out?

Later,

Jermaine

Enough to brake the tires loose in 4th gear, since I was road tunning it.

Awesome! Now I just need to get some larger injectors, and raise up the boost using my UTEC and get it tuned for about 8 PSI. Should bump me up to about 400 or so rwhp on my JWT TT

Great news. Of course, it means I have to spend money for the new injectors and a new tune, but thats allright.

During testing I was able to build 14.5-15 psi and then ramp it up to 16-16.5 from 6000 to redline to see if it was doing what I was telling it to..I was also able to increase and decrease spool time by playing with the "wastegate closed below" feature and the "boost ramp" settings in the UTECs parameters. Keep in mind the BCS I am using is the same one from Turbo XS's top of the line DTEC boost controller.
Since you can ramp up boost, does that mean you can tune utec to bring in boost later in the rpm's to help get traction lower in the rpm's ?

You can tune the boost to do whatever any other boost controller on the market can do. The only feature it will not have is Gear dependant boost and scramble boost. But you can hypothetically ramp the boost to come in at whatever RPM you wish, but that would defeat the purpose of having the big TT kit for Tons of TQ, unless you build you motor to rev to 9000rpms.

Here are some boost graphs I made today with the UTEC controlling boost. The high boost drop off at 18-16 psi is either due to my springs for my actuator or my BOV not keeping closed fully. But you get the idea as to how I able to control the boost ramp up and max boost.

Here is an updated tune with the two seperate maps. These are Dyno Dynamics numbers with no correction at all. Notice how the boost pressure drops from peak to redline.Either my actuators are not holding shut, or my turbos are simply out of steam Keep in mind this is a 8.5:1 compression , non sleeved block using standard ARP headstuds and stock headgaskets. No headlift issues what so ever even after 12,000 abusive miles. We build RELIABLE high HP street cars, that are track proven and street driven..
Low boost map was on 93 octane, high boost was on 112 octane.

welll sorta staying with the topic... if the slight drop is boost is not related to the utec handling the boost...then its all good

btw nice numbers and setup J

Curves look good. Yeah, the APS TT's are happiest around 15-16psi. This is where they are producing the maximum airflow. Anything beyond that would probably result in some kind of pressure drop. The low boost curve looks very nice.

Yup, if I had the 18g's like on the greddy, life would be better.. Im actually going to throw a 100-150 shot of Nitrous on my car over the winter.I really want to test the limits and reliability of stock sleeves on a built bottom end.Im actually TRYING to blow up my motor. This is while were building up the race car motor also..But that project is a 1-2 year project to get it all done right.
I am currently tesing the UTEC BCS on a TN single turbo car to see how it works out on that, so far it seems to hold the boost a 8.5 psi, since the customer was having an overboost issue of 10-11 psi
Ill keep you guys all posted.
The best thing about my current setup, is I can put 2 gallons of 112 octane in and flick the map switch, and run 16 psi, then fill up with 93 octane and flick it back for 13-14 psi..
A better set of cams would also help out, which were in the process of getting done.

Looks like I need to update my UTEC.

I didn't know that they were having a problem with the older software, but this would explain why I made so much boost (and almost blown my motor) on the dyno 10 days ago.

You would think after paying $1000 for an engine controller that there would be some sort of notice that some of the advertised features don't work correctly.

Any reason why you chose the $90 TurboXS solednoid over the $20 GM solenoid?

wait....no it does not explain why you made so much boost unless you were using the utec to control boost before, but the actual problem b4 was that you could not raise the boost(control it) at all.....so so somethgin else is up there.
you already saved 600 bucks over an electronic boost controller by having the utec use the boost control feature and you wanna go even cheaper?? lol

Any reputable tuner would have noticed this issue and feature not working properly and prevented the failure from occuring..Also the UTEC has an overboost fuel cut, that would have prevented any overboosting if it were set properly.
Like any new release, there are always issues and bugs, and as they add features and update software, more features are tested. As always and unlike most other companies, turbo XS always offers FREE updates on the software. Can you say the same for Unichip/HKS/Emanage/Split second???

The features were untested on real worl applications with the exception of our constant testing since Last November and feedback to Jermaine at Turbo XS, which allowed them to make the needed corrections in the software to allow these features to work.
The issue did not arise cause most other shops were content and convieniently eager to sell their customers a $650 High tech Boost controler in its place and never even bothered to do any testing of the BCS feature on the UTEC to simplify things. We have a different approach to things and are more honest with out customers, and would rather loose a sale, then to sell our customers parts they dont need. If more shops had made a good faith effort like we did to resolve the issue, this would have been resolved months ago, and tons of people that purchased pricey EBC units would have gotten off with a retail investemnt of $1045 for the UTEC and $90 for a BCS, but instead paid $1000 for engine management, then were sold $600+ boost controllers with tons of features they will never utilize anyway. To me this just dont make sense. If the UTEC does it all, then why not simplify things in one nice package? Just Like we have done.
Our research and efforts often go unnoticed and unrecognized and forum members usually shop the cheapest place and mail order their equipment, and loose out on the continuing developments guys like me provide. We were tunning the UTEC and working closely with TX waaaaay back when all the other shops were on the Emanage Ultimate ******* and did not have the vision we did. The UTEC's abilities have just begun to be tapped, and with the introduction of the new firmware in 2007 the resolution and features will be comparable to a unit costing 3-4X's as much.

#1) I had one lying around
#2) I like to package things together and hate mix and matching components from different manufacturers. We did however try the APS BCS which did not work properly. So for the extra $70, why take a chance?
