I believe I've spent over 40 hours chasing this issue. a lot of it is really to utilize what the F Con as engine management can do. If you can make the ECU stay in open loop mode, the ECU will never self check it self and set any codes.
So to answer your questions. A combination of tunning and flashing the ECU (GTM Spec Flash). Something to share, we have some cars getting tested at a referee smog station and the car DID pass the smog inspection on the F Con.
This is by no means an easy task and is VERY time consuming, So I can see why most tuners would not do it.

What we are talking about has nothing to do with cobb at all. We are not disabling the physical cel function of the factory ecu. If there is a problem the CEL will turn on. What we are doing is tuning the car as close to OEM as possible and fooling the factory ecu to stay in open loop as long as possible so it does not trigger a CEL.

Ok so after having the FCON for over 1 year and my check engine light on it's now turned off. It has turned back on, but then other times I'll start the car and it's off. I have not made any changes on the car. Weird!
Does the check engine light burn out if it stays on for a long time?

Gman2004, i have a problem with my check engine light going off and then on and I am still NA. Hopefully when I get my FCON (I will be going FI down the road) install in Dec. it will stop, but if not it's ok.

yeah I learned to live with my light. In fact I've owned my car for 3 years now and my light turned on when I switched my exhaust and added tp's which was about 1 month after I bought the car. It was just weird that after being lit for a year straight it decides to shut off.

I swear I get these problems after the fact, anyways I get a code 1168 bank 2 error. So are you guys saying replacing the o2 will not fix this? You think there might be a slight chance the sensor is burnt out? I just replaced pulleys on my car and it was working ok but then a few days after this code came up. I cleared it drove around no code, then next day cruising around CEL. When this light comes on it feels like my car goes slower but I may be wrong.
