Check Engine Light With F-con

Only down side is the price - +$600 to turn off the check engine light (if you already have an engine management system)... Also, once you mate the COBB system with an ECU, it can not be used with any other ECU unless it's unmated... And ofcourse, once it's unmated, the ECU returns to stock...

Maybe they can work out something for just disabling the CEL. Ill take my tape over $600 lol.
$600 is pretty steep but in all honesty I'd spend it, I hate that cel especially since I'm cell hell right now between the regular cel code and the brake/abs/tcs/slip light being on since that issue still hasn't been resolved. My dash board looks like a xmas tree and I'm too broke right now to get that all fixed.
anyway, back to subject...once this flash is being released for the z I want one

no, the fcon controls the fuel injection and ignition systems - so whatever tuning you had done to the stock ECU is still in there, it is just going to waste because the stock ECU isnt in control of those components anymore. If I were you, I would swap your ECU to someone for their stock one and $$$ just to get some money back.

We did find a solution to this issue ,it a combination of flashing the Ecu and certain configurable options on the f con ,it is being tested in our shop car to confirm the fix .we will be posting a complete write up on our shop car in the next few days, stay tuned .
Anyone tried the pocket scan tool? $50
It should remove the cel but you'll have to do it at each start.
I was going to get this but after my S/C, there's not being any cel yet.

I believe I've spent over 40 hours chasing this issue. a lot of it is really to utilize what the F Con as engine management can do. If you can make the ECU stay in open loop mode, the ECU will never self check it self and set any codes. So to answer your questions. A combination of tunning and flashing the ECU (GTM Spec Flash). Something to share, we have some cars getting tested at a referee smog station and the car DID pass the smog inspection on the F Con.
This is by no means an easy task and is VERY time consuming, So I can see why most tuners would not do it.

so the cobb turns the cel off completely for all codes? If so, what if there's a real problem that comes up? Would it be possible to just turn off that one code that goes off all the time instead of all of them?
