Default sfr turbo kti

hey everyone, i'm really interested in the sfr turbo kit right now, seeing that it can make a great deal of power on low boost, without the need for modifying the internals. i searched the forums typing "speed force" or "sfr turbo" and i get general posts, reason being why i posted here. Does anyone have experience with this kit? How well does it run? i'm looking for 400whp daily driver without modifying my internals....for now. I want this kit because the low boost delivers good hp numbers. i'm also planning on staying low boost for about a year until i upgrade internals and go over 550whp. the kit looks really well built too. Does it come with any type of baseline tuning or piggyback? if so, how does it perform with the base tune? what else would i need with this kit to make it my daily driver, or is everything included with it? thanks.

400whp daily? You can't run the SFR kit on stock internals, too dangerous.

I think you need to check out all the other kits available and choose from those.

I think its safer that lets say, APS kit. For one, it has external wastegates. Secondly, it comes with Split second ecu. You can have them custom make the turbo for your sizing. I think it has stages 1-4. I went with the stage 3.

The fact that you think that having the split second box is a good thing speaks volumes...

The fact the people have made over 650rwhp with split second speaks volumes.

Is this the same split second piggy back as the one on the Vortec SC?

Drivability and longevity is what differentiates a $500 EMU solution from the $5k. Some carbureted cars make 1000 hp w/ less electronics then your basic cell phone or $5 watch but do so pretty ugly.

Im not comparing it to a Vpro, aem, utec or anything like that. What I am saying is, it comes with some sort of fuel management in which you can tune.

The fact that someone would run a vehicle at 650whp with a split second box speaks volumes - VRT lol. SS box is an inferior method of engine management, end of story.

What's up with your signature then?
Have you located a shop close to you that's familiar with this kind of install, or do you plan on doing it yourself? You have the money ready to purchase not only the kit, but the labor, extra pieces, dyno time, and fit-it money?

What makes it inferior for a completely stock twin car? If it can run a 650rwhp+ car, I think it would do just fine at 400.

LOL!!
you are funny, ... you know this how??

Tim has run his TT kit on his Stock block Z for years, ... No problems, ... as a matter of fact, he was running the stock spark plugs, split second, 91, etc, .... no problems.

kaminariZ, if you'd like to kow about the SFR kit, ... I would suggest contacting Tim himself. (Turbo Tim is his screen name)

If I had the extra $, I would definitely be running the SFR kit!!

bingo.
It does what it can do very well. It's no V Pro, ... but it's as good/about as good as Any other Piggy-Back out there.

The SS box is good enough , JWT , Stillen , SFR , and Vortech all use it . Of course it isnt going to be as good as Utec or E-manage U. But for a piggyback that tunes with offset timing and fuel it works very well

476 WHP on three differnet dynos(2 dyno dynamics and 1 dynojet) at three different times. You can see the charts on our website.I am pulling about 1 degree every psi of boost after 6 psi.Stock spark plugs, yes. There has been no detonation, preignition and the plugs look really good whenever we pull them and check them and now there is 46,000 miles on them. There is 20,000 miles on my stock motorwith our turbo kit on their.I use 91 octane pump fuel.

I am wondering whose kit you seen because we do not sell or build crappy parts. Now we do get customers who want to buy our manifolds or our downpipe and then do the rest themselves so I am wondering if this is the kit you seen and not the actual complete kit we build.

Well I guess I live dangerously because the car has been like that for almost two years now and no issues or problems.Every one of our customers who have bought this kit have made in excess of 400WHP and no engine catastrophes that we know of. It is all in the tuning. If you tune conservatively then you can run around with 400+ at the wheels with no issues.
