Yeah, and venting the hood also helps reduce temps in there... But I think there could be a lot of benefits to a remote mount system, and I think the temperature under the hood would be one of them.

I'm really excited to see some numbers for this kit. Weren't we supposed to see them on monday? Wheres Subzero for us to flame for a lack of Dynos and slips.

There will still be added heat under the hood from a turbo, even a well wrapped turbo.

I'm sorry... I had to edit that... to was too sarcastic.
What you aren't considering is the fact the actual engine block puts out more heat than a properly wrapped/blanketed turbo. Seriously, my intake piping only gets hot due to the fact that it's bolted at one point to the engine block...

The whole "engine bay heat" argument is a bit overrated if you ask me...

He said that was a 60-1 turbo? It may just be the angle or the fact that its hard to reference size back there, but it looks smaller to me.

I wonder how this setup would change with the addition of an aftermarket or custom y-pipe and midpipe and/or headers? I'm guessing it would slow spool but make a little more peak power. Then again, I'm not sure if the tradeoff would even be worth it (kinda like swapping headers with a TN kit).

+1...

Way too much effort for gains that would ultimately be trumped by almost every other kit on the market. Just my

that pressure side pipe coming off the turbo would be very low and hang down under the car. not really feeling that setup at all. i would like to see one on my dyno though...

That maybe the case but the whole install factor of the turbo kit is the biggest selling point. Not eveyone is shooting for 600hp. A nice 400-500hp is good enough for me and many other people on this board (assuming this car can produce this amount of power). Again, this kit is probably out to steal more people from the SC crowd than the twin turbo guys.

Double wrap all the pipe with header wrap and wrap your manifolds, it will improve spool up time. They do this on the LS1 rear turbos and usually get about 500rpm or so faster spool time.
