Default Help me build an ATI PROCHARGER monster..

Hi-

I live in Southern California, just purchased a sweet custom 350z with MUCHO potential. I purchased it salvage and I want to make it a
street/ track monster for cheap .I am fairly firmiliar with how everything works, having owned 4 performance vehicles in the past, but I have a couple of newb questions.
I'm diving right into this project! And this is how it goes..

Project: Boost ocZ

Car: 2005 350z 6-speed coupe base model
Current Body Modifications: Custom kit + slr fenders / 2-toned blue black metallic

Objective: all-out street/track rwd power

Purchased & Needed for Completion:

need coilovers

purchasing 18x8.5/18x9.5 rota torque-r wheels
need suggestions on sic tire sizes for front and rear to get a perfect drop without rubbing

purchased A Procharger 7.0psi Supercharger kit for an 05 350z

need suggestions on injectors / fuel pump / fuel rails. I do want to upgrade

need suggestions on tuning

need suggestions on porting+spacing OR replacing intake manifold along w/TB

DEFINATLY need suggestions on the exhaust setup being as I am an exhaust nut. So far I'm in love with the Greddy Evo 2 exhaust, and RNR exhaust, but there may be better flowing exhausts with larger diameters that sound just as goo?
I would love suggestions on the best flowing/fitting header for this supercharged 350.

Any choice shops in the so-cal area you can suggest?

Can't wait to get started! Supercharger arrives end of this week
Thanks guys!

ATI Procharger and Monster dont go in the same sentence Check out peoples set-ups in the FI forums, you can read a TON and get many many ideas for your ride. UTEC for 600whp or less is good, CJM fuel system, if your running stock block Id do 440cc better yet 550cc injectors (for more power later), and Id do an APS big mouth or Crawford Plenum.

Oh-as far as tire, people pudge 315 series wide on 9.5" Nismos and a +30 offset, I wouldnt dop it but its an option. Again, a little reading will get you far in this area, decide whats best for you/your budget. Good luck!

congrats on your purchase.. I have a procharger and pretty much have gone through all you are looking to do already..alberto is right.. the procharger is not a monster.. but it'll probably do fine at the track.. assuming the track isn't a 1/4 mile straight one

base model? you just bought a car with no LSD.. I would suggest an aftermarket LSD.. and even the Central20 3.9 gearset..

injectors with the 7psi kit? 380cc or 440cc injectors should be plenty.. just buy a CJ Motorsports or AAM return fuel system with a walbro fuel pump.. visit AAM or Forgedinternals.com for package deals..

as for intake manifold, just get a plenum spacer.. it does as much as many of the exotic and expensive plenum replacments.. but costs much less..

Tuning: get a emanage ultimate or UTEC... dump the stock procharger fuel system ASAP, it's junk..

exhaust .. IMHO all of them are pretty much the same in terms of performance.. go for sound if that's your thing.. I'm not a big fan of the Evo2.. sounds rather raspy to me.. I personally like the Amuse and HKS.. they look good and sound good and have sufficient diameter piping for your supercharger.. Headers? Crawford headers show the most gain.. but they are big $$$.. I'm personally running the Prospeed headers..

If you are building a "track monster" you should also consider a big brake kit.. the stock brakes will probably fade quickly on you. Coilovers? what's your budget? there are so many options there..but you should start with a good set of anti-roll bars like the Hotchkis or Cusco..

you have a lot of lurking and reading to do

good luck,

how are you planning on dealing with the belt snapping and bracket bending issues?

I'm always hearing about them anyway from the 2 or so people that have ventured into the 450-500whp range

Hey guys look what I just got!!

Should work well with procharger, or at least, better than a plenum spacer.
I'm working on purchasing an e-manage from greddy.
440cc injectors as well.

To adress the issue sentry65. Is it possible to reinforce the bracket or maybe buy a stronger belt of like size?

Please let me know..

I am also looking for a suitable fuel upgrade, but wondering if this CJ system...http://www.forgedperformance.com/sto...cat=251&page=1 is the only the option? Seems a bit pricey.

I'm still in the dark on headers. I know crawford makes an awesome set with what looks like tons of bends and turns. DC sports makes a clean affordable set. Is it possible to cermaic coat them for longer life?

On a suspension / tire wheel sidetrack
I'm currenty working on getting NEX SS coilovers, and 18" wheels with a front 8.5 and rear 9.5, or the optimal 9.5 front 10.5 rear. What would be a great tire for either?
295/35/18
or
285/40/18

Just throwing numbers out I don't want to go smaller than a 35 profile in the rear on 18's because I want to lower it a good amount with the Nex c/o.

I'm excited, but I should probably look into suspension compononents more so I wear evenly? I see tons of different front and rear adjustible arms. Haven't got that far yet, but I'm looking into ittt

Thanks for tips experienced memebers!

What makes it so bad, can I have it ported to improve?
I read the descriptions on SSV, haven't asked any members...

Zero performance gains...that's why it's bad. Looks is the only thing it has going for it.

You just waisted $700 to $900 of your build money on a piece of junk

You should put that SSV to use buy putting a piece of paper under it. (lol). Just kidding. While I am sure that the SSV will not make you lose power I would not expect much gain in comparison to the price you paid and on top of that most people don't like that manifold due to the misknowledge they seemed to give at it's debut about power gains. Many say that the debuted power gains were due to the tuning rather than the manifold.

I have been duped, but It is being returned.

I guess a spacer will suite my needs fine.

What is the largest available for use?

If you want to get big power out of a SC . You'll need a set up [ cog pulleys ] like this one to get the most out of your blower

Can you define your goals beyond "monster" and "street/track or maybe a budget?"

You could gather 100 ppl off random car forums and a few might consider an Integra Type R a street/track monster, or a M3, or a Z06.

IMO, the 7psi ATI kit with a well tuned suspention to your liking and the type of track you will be on, tires, brakes, cooling, and driver mod would make for a monster on the track.

Oh, if you’re planning on a 10k+ build, then build the bottom end with lighter/stronger internals and cams/springs/retainers with a higher fuel cut. If you can opt for titanium rods, that can be a great asset. If you really got change to burn, I know of some forged Aluminum rods that are outstanding in quality for a ridiculously light bottom end.
