Default Look what I found at FedEx today!

I just got this in the mail today.. I inventoried it all.. touched the turbos a couple of times.. ran to the bathroom to relieve myself... .. a few times... touched the turbos some more.. ..
I want to put it on right now, but have to wait it out for this oil consumption check BS...
I'm missing a 28mm spacer.. anyone have measurements on this?? It's Item #51 on the check list.. Hopefully one is on it's way, but just in case I might go to Home Depot motorsports and get one.

I'd say it's a Greddy judging by the pic on the left with that one intercooler "Y" pipe.?

I <3 my Greddy

Who's going to install/tune your kit? I'm not aware of any reputable shops who installs this on a Z.

Off topic.......I think there's going to be a meet on the 21th of this Month @ Shelby Farms. Check the SE Region. Are you going?

And you would be Right...
There is no Intercooler. I'm going to purchase my own stuff and make a kit..
I figured, since I"m only going to be boosting 7psi tops for a while I will run 2 side mounts..
I plan to use 2 1/2" piping at most to each side mount, then take the output 2 1/2" pipes and Y them into a 3" pipe that will run directly to my MAF and then TB.
I was considering making a 3" pipe run straight up the center that breaks off into 6 runners one into each intake port on the heads. .. I guess something similar to the old Tuned Port Injection manifold of the Vettes..
It's up in there air for now. I have a month to plan it out as I wait for Infiniti to replace my engine.

I'm going to install it ..
I ran into one of the guys that works for Extreme while at FedEx. He had a turbo Del Sol.. He told me they did a kit on a few G35's and can tune the Emanage if I needed someone. I had already informed him that I will be installing myself.
The amount I could pay for them to install will go towards my lift and compressor one day.

I'm sure you could pick up a used FMIC for pretty cheap and skip the side mounts. But... Do what you gotta do. What are you using to tune with? And i'm sure you're aware that an "out of the box" Greddy kit is a time bomb waiting to happen. You know the saying, "You gotta pay to play". Get your hands on some quality supporting mods. Good luck man!

Not sure what you mean that it's a "time bomb"..
I am a safe player when it comes to boost. I have read the instructions 3 times, cataloged the parts and was just surfing for an A/F meter and an Oil Gauge. I was supposed to get a GReddy Profec B with my kit, which should indicate what my boost is, but I don't know if it can be trusted. I will probably just get a boost gauge too, since they don't cost much.
As for the FMIC. It doesn't make sense to me to have one. I am not changing my cover, nor am I cutting my 5mph bumper, so a FMIC is kind of a waste of time and money. Two side mounts bolted right behind the inlets on the bottom sides of my bumper would make for much better cooling.
Oh, in case you didn't know I have a G35, not a Z.. so my front end is pretty closed up.. ..
What other supporting mods do you think could be needed for someone who's only running 7psi?..
With my IC kit I intend to install my BOV as well, haven't decided on which one yet, that's all..
Let me know if there is, in fact, something else I might need..
Oh, and I have a 255lph pump in the garage with a hardwire kit.

I'll be working on the IC's in the mean time.

Good luck bro! My friend has a lot of exp with installing turbos, so I had him help me with it. I wouldn't suggest trying to do it yourself if you arent a mechanic.

Is this for real? Does everyone really think it's this difficult? I will get a shop to tune the car.. The rest isn't that difficult at all. ..
I'm pretty certain that if I can pull my 3000gt's engine, rebuild it, put it back together with TD05H 16G's, mount up a FMIC, run custom oil feed and return lines, run custom gas lines, tune my MAF-T (allowed the use of a GM MAF), and everything else I had to do to that car and drive it from NJ to Orlando on it's first 2000 miles I can install a turbo kit that was actually MADE for the G35 on a G35..
It's not Rocket science. I can read.. yeah.. that's about all that needs to be said about it..
Is there something magical a shop can do? Can they do a dance or dust it with Fairy dust to make it work better or something? I trust my car to myself much much more than I trust it to some shop .. No one likes my car as much as I like my car, therefore no one will give it the care and attention to detail I will give it.

your problem isn't mechanical.. your problem is electronic.. the Greddy Kit out the box has a timing issue.. so you either need to get a timing harness and have it tuned properly.. or get another form of engine management.. my suggestion is UTEC for 7 PSI.. until most people found this out.. the Greddy Kit blew almost every engine it was on

Would not even install the kit until I had a better engine managment, and for the price I would go UTEC. The install with the moter pulled is fairly straight forward. It doesnt say it in the directions, but be SURE to put some sort of heat wraping around the starter. If you dont it has the possibity to catch a fire because the passenger side oil return line is so close to the rubber around the starter.

Well, I was only planning on running the stock 5.5lbs of boost. The very MOST my dealer will let me run without voiding my warranty is 7PSI. I have heard that the GReddy kit with the Emanage Blue is good for 5.5lbs provided it's tuned properly..
I can install it all in my Garage in a weekend more than likely (a 3 day weekend and perhaps a vacation day) and then just drive it to the place with the dyno. It's about 5-10 miles from me, so it's not a big deal, maybe I'll just open the wastegates for the whole ride or something.. just in case... I dont' trust boost at all, I'm very pesamistic when it comes to a boosted car that wasn't built with a turbo kit. I know the risks, I know the difference between my Hi compression engine in the G getting boosted VS. my low low 8:5:1 compression in my 3kgt.. I could run all the boost in the world on that damn thing it seemed like. .. well, 15psi safe without any other upgrades .. I have the sickness though.. I can't leave anything alone. I think, though, I am going to leave the Aprilia alone. I'm already afraid to give the thing full throttle in 1st and 1/2 way through 2nd because of how much power it has..
Well, it's time to take my Math Quiz.. ..
for all you 30+ year olds out there who've never been in college and want to go now.. .. it sucks!!.. and this is still my first week!

I've got a question for you all though.. Since I am fairly new to the platform and the parts associated with it.
..
Is the Injen that I have (true dual) + the Kinetix HFC a good enough matchup for these 18Gs?.. I was kicking around the thought of installing some 16g turbos instead, or maybe even 14bs in an attempt to cut down turbo lag. I'm sure the 3.5 can push these turbos well enough but I want boost to come on at about 2k and be at peak at about 3k rpm.. Just wanted all of your input on that.. Keep in mind I have 100,000 miles before I can change the internals or boost over 7psi, soo... I have a LONG time before I can really turn up the boost, so 18Gs are pretty much OVERKILL..
