Shiming the motor is not advisable..Your changing the angle of the motor to tranny and the entire drive line.Even so slightly, if its off enough, you could run into issues with the crank and main bearings..If you shim the motor up, you need to shim the tranny up also to let the "U" joints on the Drive shaft make up for the 3/16" in stead of putting the exess strain directly on the crank shaft and input shaft.
Shaving the knuckle, following the install instructions for the APS extreme kit and you will be fine..

How does shimming a motor mount (which is what I assume they are talking about) change anything as far as the "Motor to tranny". They are solidly bolted together. It would change the angle of the transmission to driveshaft of course.

By raising the motor 3/16" of an inch and leaving the tranny at the same level without shimming it, you could put extra strain on the tranny input shaft to crank shaft, regardless of the bolting of the tranny. Idealy, you want every component from the crank shaft to tranny to rear end on a level plane..Im sure someone will debate my explenation with some long winded cut and paste on something they read somewhere..But this is basic stuff, I may not be doing a good job explaining it..But most people understand what I am reffering to, as far as keeping the engine and transmission as true as possible since it is a rotating mass.

This is not correct. The only "strain"...if you want to call it that, is the driveshaft connection to the trans. The trans and engine are fixed, and that angle does not change. With a universal joint in that location, and the constant flexing of the chassis, it is unlikely you will harm the driveshaft, or the output shaft.

Either way, we can mod the steering knuckle on the 06's in order to make it fit without shimming.

Not gloating...just correcting the incorrect info you posted. Have a nice day.

And either way, we havent shimmed an APS TT kit 06 engine, merely pointing out that it can be done.

Did you read the thread? It addresses your question

Kits that will fit include

TT - JWT, Greddy, and APS(with minor modification)

ST - APS, TN - both require modifications

Superchargers - Vortech and Stillen I believe

Your best bet would be a TT or supercharger kit. I would avoid the ST's for now...

what modifications do you have to do to the steering knuckle on a revup to install the aps tt kit?

Wait a minute...you have a 35th Aniv? You don't need to mod the knuckle on 03-05's...just grind it down a little. The 06's need the knuckle mod because the steering rack is different than 03-05's, not because of the revup motor.
