i forget, does the forged vb make a loud noise when u shift or it just feel hard (jerky) when u shift? Any noise while cruising? My wife drives my car sometimes and I dont want her to freak out.

Replied to your PM. If this is for your wife's car I'm afraid she may not like it or will get tired of it. The car can lurch forward some when shifting from 1-2 under moderate acceleration. Tough call.

Explain to the wife that performance is a priority and she will just have to get used to it

Seriously though ---a shift kit/VB mod really is one mod that prolongs the life of the component

None that I can recall, When first installed I would hear a wine when decelerating in 1rst gear but then it went away. On D mode normal driving it’s not bad at all.

My D mode driving is not bad at all. When the transmission is cold there is a slight nudge during the shifts but smooths out when the fluid is warmed up. I drive around with my wife and she has never complained about the shifts. It will do the same type of throttle input sensitive shifts as the stock set up just on the upper portion it shifts with force, but at that point you should be pinned to the seat anyways.

My VB is at IPT, they are delayed, taking longer than they thought as it's their first G35 VB, they've done 350Z as they told me.

Instead of Friday, I will get it back on monday instead.
Hope they don't F- it up.

My fingers crossed!

I emailed John and he replied back saying that the regular VB for 499 is for only 4 speed AT and that our car would cost 625 and that inlarging the solenoid is not an option. Wierd.

They just finished mine. Must took him longer than he thought & that's why price going up.

I guess there's benefit to be the Guinea Pig sometimes.

Further more, I am guessing that he saw my "solenoid" being so large already, there is no room to improve

That's pretty weak. And there should be very little difference between working on a G35 VB and a 350Z VB. Hell my FX35 VB didn't cost me anymore or take any longer, FX45s same deal.

Just got my car back. Did some test run.

It seems shift faster now, and it's not to harsh.

Before VB, I was hitting rev. limitor at 1-2, 2-3,
Now I only hit rev limitor at 2-3. So, some improvments there.

But I believe L10, Stillen both still hit rev limitor under WOT.

So the questions is, With Stillen, L10, & IPT VB, one has to do manual shift for 1/4 mmile run, what rpm do you do the 1-2, 2-3 shift?

Using my G-timer, I run a 1/4 at 13.45 after hit rev limitor & step on brake at 97mph due to traffic. Looks like a high 12" car to me if I can unleash the potential at track without hitting the rev limitor.

Well thats to bad it still hits the rev limiter . I never have to worry about it with the SGP VB.
