Default any built aps st's out there?

I know that the aps st is somewhat limited in power potential with a built engine...however...how much power could an aps st produce out of a short block? any one out there with an aps st and a built engine....??

I have an aps st on a stock block and I'm heavily debating building my engine, but only if it will be worth it...I'm looking to put down around 450 to 475 safely....

Built short block with the APS ST is a good choice for those looking to get into the mid-400 to mid-500 range. The thread mentioned goes into a big debate over fuel systems and really doesn't address what you're looking for, but I would say that for your power goals, a built short block, adequate fuel system, and the addition of forge actuator springs and remote wastegate solution to the APS ST kit will easily deliver the power you want along with a high reliability factor. My personal recommendations would be to go with 650cc injectors, CJ Stage 2 fuel system, and a UTEC for engine management.

If you get bored, you can always drop a 100 shot of nitrous on top for some white knuckle madness

As always, just my

Does anyone know the price for the CJ Stage 2 fuel system and a general idea of what 650cc injectors run?

Yep, about $1200 for the Stage 2. You still need to pop for the fuel pump and injectors. About $500-$600 for injectors and another $100 for the pump. All told, you'll end up dropping a little less than $2k, but it's a rock solid setup IMHO.

Ive never seen any APS ST ever hit 500whp, let alone mid 500's with lower compression than stock S1AMEZE

Agreed. You'd absolutely have to lower your compression, and push the turbo to its limits. Somewhere in the 16-20psi range. Problem is that most guys running ST's aren't pushing built motors. MOST Those with enough money to play have always jumped to the TT band wagon as there was no quesiton of whether or not the power could be delivered. The APS ST kit has enough breath to make it there, but you've got to address the fuel system and the internal wg issue. With a strong bottom end, forge springs and external wg solution, I strongly think that the APS could hit these numbers. But the issue again is that most haven't tried....

Again, just my

Would be nice to see it done-for the sake of exclusivity.

APS single turbo is too small to make that much power. Wedge a bigger turbo in there and you would be good for 550s+. I bet a masterpower t70 with a t3 inlet would fit in there.

And this type of thinking is why nobody has ever tried... Oh well. To each their own.

for $2k I'd get the APS extreme fuel system and call it a day.

Good point. It's a huge debate right now as to whether the APS extreme fuel sys is the best bang for the buck. I'm not sold it 100%, and admit that the CJ is definitely more expensive for what you get...

Either way, you spend close to the same $$$

well if 500+ isn't attainable i would at least like to try mid for high 400's....i mean i just want to get my money's worth if i go through the process of building a short block and a fuel system....

GTM is building my motor as we speak.

Stage 1 block
Stage 1 head
Turbo Cams
HKS FCON Vpro

money permitting now or late this year.
CJ Stage 2
Denso 550cc injectors

with the bigger injectors and fuel system i am hoping to break 500whp.

That's what I wondered, how it compared price wise to the Extreme.
