Default PRELIMINARY Numbers from GRD (APS ST)-431 WHP/460 tq

Tuan from GRD just emailed me after the second tune. Didn't get a chance to talk to him just yet, but I'll get more info tomorrow. As I mentioned in an earlier thread, they had some issues during the first tune due to the actuator/spring. I called a few times today, each time Tuan was making some adjustments. Again, more details later once I find out what they did. I'm happy at 460lb/ft torque and 431 WHP @ 12psi on the Dynapack (93 octane baby!).. Next spring comes stage II of my project. Tuan just mentioned that we can go for 15-17psi next year, but issue is maxing out the maf voltage. What do you guys recommend for next year as far as fuel system/EMS goes? I have some ideas for now, just curious on your opinions. Tuan's pretty confident 500whp is attainable once I get the additional goodies for "stage II."

If I could do it again Id do the CJM fuel system. Why do you want to ditch the Unichip? BTW-decent numbers, I would have expected more on a dynapack but its not done yet. What pistons/compression/rods/cams? Can you post the dyno?

Stock Cams, 8:5:1, GRD custom forged pistons/rods. Dyno probably next week, just got the info on an email. Tuan literally did the tune minutes ago.

If going for 500whp, why not make it easier and go for cams? BTW-forgive my ignorance as I dont research APS stuff much, but about what psi is this turbo efficient to? 500whp on race gas or pump? Good luck with the goals, 500whp on a ST would be sweet....

Pump gas, I'm tuned on 93 octane. I have no intentions to tune on race gas. GRD didn't think I really needed to upgrade the cams for achieving my goals. I trust their judgment and they thought the fuel system and EMS would be the limiting factors. We sat down in the beginning and we discussed the goals and where I wanted to go. I won't do CAMS at this point as I would kick myself for not doing it when the motor was out.

As far as the EMS question, From what I have researched, the unichip is limiting with regards fuel/timing, that's why a utec or fcon combined with a better fuel system will help me achieve my goals. I'm sure some of the FI experts here can be more details (and less succinct) then I. But unless I can get a really good deal on an fcon, it will be the utec....

Good numbers, switch cams and you may get a better output. But keep use informed on the on goings.

Synth, This is an EASY no brainer decision, and I am willing to bet Tuan has already advised you what is needed

Fcon with the APS extreme fuel system.

From my experience, I bet your injectors are limiting you right now. If you go for larger injectors, your EMS is limiting you. I wouldn't worry so much about cams right now, just drive the car for the 4-5 wks you have left in the season.

Considering I see you posted this at after 5 pm, I doubt he started on my car. Oh well, just needs to be done by Tuesday

I agree with you on the FCON advice. Why would he spend $2000 on a fuel system that is overkill? A $1000 CJM or AAM system will more than do the job for his power levels/goals....

$1000 plus the cost of injectors puts it within $500 of the APS system which I'll admit for Synth's application IS overkill, but since when was that a bad thing if you got the cash

Or worse, the "extreme bug" that the TT guys have. heh. No, seriously I know my limits and I'm frankly happy with what I have. I just want to max out the ST and call it a day.
