SSQV FTW....except for that damn snap ring....bought 3 diffferent tools and finally found one that worked....PITA

 

made some videos of 5 psi runs, just gotta upload them tonite.... working on it.

 

FYI for anyone doing the HKS---- Make sure you have the flange piping as short as possible.. This is due to the hood clearance.. The HKS will keep the hood from closing properly!

 

If anyone needs extra gaskets.. I made a few rubber-fiber gaskets for the flange. I'll ship em out for like 5 bucks a piece or something..

It's alright.. It's a tad louder. But it's alot more noticeable than the Raptor!
Mine sounds a bit different from yours.. Maybe because I have the purple fin insert, and you have the gold fin?

mine tends to flutter from the valve at high vacuum... like -10 to -20... its a sick sound...l the raptor was always dead silent at those vacuum levels...

 

that hks definately has a "whistle" effect to it.

 

The gold fin is identical to the silver fin that comes with the BOV just for more eye candy being gold.

I used the silver fin in that video I made. But once my car is finished I'm going to swap in the purple fin with more boost and take some videos.

 

Dang I think I might get the HKS. It sound amazing even at low boost. The raptor only sounds good at WOT. I wanna hear it at full boost and outside the car. Lets make some videos ryan. ASAP

Why would it hurt my feelings? I've already stated most people's opinion of BOVs is based on sounds rather then function. Besides, God kills a kitten every time someone installs an HKS SSQV. I hate cats so I'm in good shape...

 

I ran an SSQV on my last car. I miss being turbo'd.
