Turbonetics piping pictures and routing

After looking at pictures of all the diffrent turbo kits. I think the manifolds from speed force racing are the best design out there for a twin setup. The turbonetics setup is packed together way to much. To fit a large single in my car would require chopping some stuff out of the metal in the engine bay, And even that still presents problems of using a 3inch down pipe. If i built some log manifolds and rerouted the waterline on the driver side with custom made A/C lines it would be doable, possibly. To bad no one makes a tubular K member for the Z like in the mustang world then i could just run all my pipes under the car with no problem at all, and use a smaller thicker radiator. If i can buy the manifolds from speed force racing i will do that, or i will modify some cheap ebay headers to work and do a twin setup as it will be easier.
Im starting to wonder if nissan made the engine bay so compact on purpose to prevent people from turbocharging the car.
With two t3/t4 60 trim turbos i should have no problem making lots of power.
The cost for two new ones is right at 1000$...
We arent talking about buying on the market kits for my car, we are trying to generate ideas for a custom one using high quality parts with lower cost. Wich is very doable. With twin t3s i can use my current exhaust as it will flow enough, the only thing i have to change is the mid pipe for a 3" ID pipe. We are trying to make it simple and effective. Part of doing something like this yourself is you know what parts went in the car and where they are how they work. It makes it a hell of alot easier to work on it, so if something does fail or is starting to fail you can remove and repair it effectivly versus taking it to a tuner shop and paying an arm and a leg.
Its a shame this forum is not open to new ideas. When i do have everything sorted and all the parts ready to go i will take lots of pictures and post a DIY custom turbo how too.

You use a larger gate on a big turbo at low boost, a smaller gate on a large turbo at high boost works fine. A 46mm on a 2.5L with a holset hx35 is required to control boost at low pressure ( not going to run it at 25psi all day long on the street). If a 35mm was used it would boost spike like no end. WHy dont you visit www.turboford.org and learn some stuff about turbos, im sure they will teach more than this turbonetics guru.
What is your job at turbonetics, public relations? Because you damn sure arent a tech.

"(44mm gate needed for a 2.5L motor ROFLMFAO)"
Really are you that unknowing? You honestly have no idea do you? Do you know how a wastegate works OR IS? It controls boost by letting out excess exhaust gasses from coming intop the turbo inlet that spool your turbo. SO if you have a small gate on a 2.5L big turbo motor. you can kiss your engine goodbye. For you saying that the turbonetics is as big as it is. it really need a bigger wastegate. especially on a engine that moves more air than a 2.5L. Please go back to turbonetics school or maybe go learn from a REAL "GURU"

The more powerful the engine, the bigger the wastegate you need. This is one of the more popular misconceptions. Use this simple guide before setting out to find the biggest wastegate you can afford.
Big Turbo/Low Boost = Bigger Wastegate
Big Turbo/High Boost = Smaller Wastegate
Small Turbo/High Boost = Smaller Wastegate
Small Turbo/Low Boost = Bigger Wastegate
This is from http://www.turbosmart.com.au/index.php?s=faq I guess they are making it up about the wastegate sizing too right?

Maybe on a 2.5L turbo boxer motor you need a 44mm gate but you certainly don't on any of the 2.5L motors I've owned or worked on. How bout two examples for you. The Tc 2.4L 2AZ-FE and the Spec V 2.5L QR25DE. Both using a 35mm gate to control upwards of 12 PSI but usually set at 8 PSI with no issues. I guess your turboford webpage can explain that for us?

I dont even know what to say to you anymore miaplayer. You obviously need a bit more schooling. 8psi is low boost period. and for low boost you need yourself a bigger wastegate. Soooo yes to your question. 20psi in the other hand would require a smaller wastegate cause you dont want too much exhaust gas escaping due to the fact youd loose boost pressure and want to keep a stable relativley high boost pressure all the time. I am sorry to argue with you but if you'd listen you would learn something. Again what do you do for Turbonetics?
I feel for the newbs that are following this trying to see if there's any good content here...
I think you both have a solid point, but that it's all relative to the application that you're talking about. The TN kit on the 350z had overboost issues. Plain and simple. To fix this, you had to re-locate the WG or put a larger WG on. Some went as far as to do both... With the relocation "fix," it was far cheaper for TN to eat this as opposed to dishing out new wastegates to every TN owner out there.
Just food for thought.

I understand your point. The thing i am complaining about is that it may be cheaper to re locate. BUT it is far more safe to use a larger gate and relocate or not relocate.
+1. I agree completely that TN should have released a bigger WG as part of the fix. Just noting that as you move the WG back, you achieve a fix for the overboost issue at a fraction of the cost. I'm sure TN saw this as a way to save money... Again, not saying it was the "best" way to go about it, but that from a purely financial perspective, it makes sense.

Miaplaya considering you are just in phone support at turbonetics and your buddy Regie thats posts on here is in sales and marketing i dont think you are a turbo guru. You do not design turbonetics kits, you have nothing at all to do with devlopment of them. You have been working there maybe close too 2 years and your a self proclamined guru. Dont you think you should be paying as a sponsor since you post directly from turbonetics computers, and bash anything that isnt turbonetics?
I was checking out the nissan titan forums and i saw a post you made on there that you could turbo a titan v8 for 5000$... When i post about a DIY turbo kit you flame to no end, but yet you can turbo a titan for 5k$?
I just dont see how turbonetics pays you to post on every single car forum all day long, all you are is a product "hype" person. I just googled your forum name and i got like 15 diffrent forums with posts about turbonetics from you. You sure do a whole lot at turbonetics, like post on forums all day long. Just stay out of my threads from now on, since you never have anything usefull to post when you come into one.
The reason you have no info on the turbonetics stage 2 Z kit is because your a phone support person and not a R&D engineer.

Since when was I in phone support. Call Turbonetics and ask for Robert and see what they say. I'm a member of a few forums. Sentras, Zs, Titan, (BTW I own one of each. I owned a Frontier at point too. Also an RSX, an S10, and several other cars. Naturally I signed up for each of their respective forums) and a couple others to provide the same help to Turbonetics owners I do here. Is it a crime now to post on more then one forum? Where I post has nothing to do with what I do and don't know. I've owned a few turbo cars now and have worked on several others. I'm not flaming your damn build your own turbo kit. I'm correcting misinformed posts about needing to have a 44mm wastegate for 8 PSI on a small turbo. You guys are funny. Its YOUR and dukedusters attitude that bring negativity to your thread. AS for what I do ask around and find out how many installs I have done or helped with. I never said I was an R&D engineer. But one thing is clear. You and your boy duke CERTAINLY aren't. Good luck blowing up your second Z motor.

How bout YOU stop with the personal insults and attitude and recognize that I could care less about your paint by the numbers turbo kit. I'm trying to make sure new guys don't come here looking to buy 48mm wastegates to run 5 PSI on a T3 Super 60 like you clearly think needs to happen.
