Yes, this is why people can do the pumpkin swaps between the 5AT and 6MT.

I just got a diff from turbo toys off an 05 Z, how do you know if it's got the lsd or open diff? I was told it's not the open diff but just wanted to confirm.

Unbolt the cover, and look inside. That is really the only way to know for sure.

If it came from anything other than a base model Z it has an LSD

I'm not sure if this is a way to find out instead of removing the cover. I was told if I lift the car rear end up and put it in neutral both tires will spin. Is there more then 1 type of lsd that goes in the Z/G? I really don't want to pull the cover since I just put in new gear oil but I will if I have too.

Sucks to hear . . . so you suggest I keep my 3.5 then?

First gear is so useless though.

I have another question, if I swap to a 3.3 FD will my car Dyno differently?

All you need to do is spin the hubs on the pumpkin. If when you spin one side, the other spins in the opposite direction you have an open diff. The diff with LSD will spin with some resistence and both sides will spin in the same direction

It gets signal off the wheel speed sensors so you don't need to worry about speedo being off......

great mod, swapped mine in about a month ago.

I swapped mine about a month ago as well. One of the best supporting mods I've done so far!

why no just buy a complete stock 3.3 Diff from the factory much better than open it and swap the pumpkin ..?

I swapped a complete diff (over here we call that the whole pumpkin) from an auto...not just the gears.

is there a longer gear ratio, i remember reading somewhere that there was a 2.9 or something out there.

it would be nice to share the same gearing of the z06

did a little research a while ago...couldn't find any off the shelf gears that were longer than the 3.3's....

Now I'm sure someone would build you something custom but I can't imagine the costs lol.

But with the 3.3 and something like a 7.5K-8Krpm, your gearing will be just dandy...right Alberto....

Or if you are really crazy you do like SP and rev to 9Krpm. a 3.3FD, 26in tire, at 8700rpm is doin 160mph....think thats better than the z06 or viper.
