Default DSport Mag G35 and JWT...change of plans...

As many of you know we(DSport) were trying to build-up a high horsepower T-Trim Vortech setup for the past year and unfortunately we were unable to complete the project. I want to apologize to all of the DSport Advertisers/Sponsors for putting up with this time consuming project, I truely appreciate you product support and I promise the car will be featured as soon as possible.

Pictures:

I have been dealing with Jim Wolf for the past couple weeks and he has decided to sponsor our DSport G35 with his JWT BB700 Turbo Kit and C2 Cams. I cant tell you how excited we are to be working with Jim, he is a great guy and is a guru when it comes to the VQ and its FI capabilities

The installation of the kit and cams will be handled by Steve Mitchell at M-Workz in Gardena, CA. I will hopefully be upgrading the to ARP L19 Head Studs and Cosworth Headgaskets.

After the installation is complete we will be adding on a couple other goodies(Oil Cooler, DSS Axles, HKS EVC Boost Controller, PWR Radiator, Recaro SPG Passenger seat, TS Carbont Fiber Hood, etc..) and then it's off to Sam@GT Motorsports for pump and race gas tunes.

I will keep you guys updated on the progres...

Thanks guys, this forum has been a godsend for VQ35 tech and has helped me to build the foundation of my dream car.

Derek,
DSport

Very nice and good luck with the build. Also, maybe consider the HKS headgaskets....much better design.

The built motor is already in the car. When the motor was built over a year ago only the standard APR Headstuds and OEM Headgaskets were available.

Now we are replacing the cams and at the same time I want to change the studs and headgasket. The bore size is .20 over so the HKS headgasket wont fit.

Will the Cosworth 96mm Headgasket fit? Will the ARP L19 Head studs fit without modification?

Thanks for the support.

Very nice looking car, can't wait to seet what numbers it will make with the 700's. On a .020" overbore (I think that's what you meant instead of .20) the HKS gaskets should work.

+1 for the HKS headgaskets instead of the Cosworth. Definitly a must in my book!

Thanks for the update Derek. The HKS gasket 97mm, and will work with your 96mm bore (.020 overbore). Th gasket was designed to accomodate a wider range of bore sizes. L19 headstuds will drop right in, without modifications....trq to 90ft/lbs with moly lube.

Good luck with the new project.

Were you guys out at Willow last weekend? A guy here ran up there and posted some lap times. Just wondering if the 500 HP Zpoildz car is one of yours.

Yea Rob, that is Bob S. That car Red Z (ZpoildZ), has the JWT 530BB kit on a built motor. Also had a feature done on it in D-Sport.

Interesting. Did something happen to his car? Tekwon said the car was shooting smoke during the 3rd heat and his overall lap time was a bit lower then Tekwons...

Hahaha, yea. I guess he broke a $10 coolant hose and the coolant was leaking out all over the motor and causing a smoke screen... Hahaha. No big deal. Bob is a cool guy and is starting to learn his car better and better. His user name is Navygolf on here.....

Yeah I know who Bob is. I was just surprised to see the lap times considering how much time he has on that track. Unless of course I'm mistaken about that. I heard about the smoke and was scared the worst has happened.
